Generally, when a wrong choice has severe legal consequences, it is unwise to trust any random person's interpretation of legal language. Including your own, as you are not a lawyer. The only person you should trust is a lawyer who you are paying to represent you. Now, you are overseeing a medical emergency and you need to get that particular lawyer on the phone or in the room. You have to explain the potentially complicated medical details which they are not qualified to fully understand. This includes the uncertainty in the data (I'll get back to that), risk estimates, possible different outcomes, etc.
Now, that lawyer has to give you his best assessment! Except, as it turns out, the legal profession has even less certainty than medicine! It's a profession that often depends on how PEOPLE interpret language. Judges, prosecutors, juries, legislators, could very easily disagree with your lawyer's best assessment. And remember, none of those people are properly trained to understand the important medical details on which you base your decision.
Your entire life depends on this choice, better hope you make the right one!

See, here's the thing about medicine: almost NOTHING is completely certain! That date of conception is an estimate. It has error bars. In practice, it can easily be off by a week. There isn't even certainty when they're assessing the health of a pregnancy,. They are estimating risks. Sometimes they are wrong. There are countless ways that laymen with agendas can question those estimates.
Now, a reasonable person would say "well doctors have to use the best data they have, which says 5 weeks." But not everyone is a reasonable person. In fact, there are a whole lot of extremely unreasonable anti-abortion zealots in positions of power. You're from Texas, you should know this. Have you ever seen your nutjob AG Ken Paxton talk about abortion? It only takes one zealot in a position of power to question a Dr's decision and decide to make their life a living hell in court. Of course doctors are going to be cautious in that situation.
