Whistling in the dark for the good old days that never existed? There's a good reason it's rarely heard. It's a pile of steaming turgid dross, tall as its mercifully dead author. Let it lie.
I had the pleasure not long ago of seeing a PBS special on Red Skelton. For any one who has not seen his comedy, I strongly suggest that you check it out. The man was hilarious, and clearly loved his work. It's also important to remember that that is what Red Skelton was, a comedian.
He was also a true patriot who loved this country........
Which has exactly what to do with what I said?

What rock did you call out from under? If you don't like the post, ignore it and move on. IMO, your statement shows what you think of America, and its not much.
Why would anybody ignore a post in a forum dedicated to debates and arguments? If this post doesn't need to be debated, then it should either go to the "off-topic discussion" board or not be posted at all.
The poster made no debate type comment. Other than to, imo state trash.

An older rock than the OP. My statement refers to the debasing of Skelton's politics into feelgood rose-tinted trash. How do you debate trash without referral to trash?
Ok. However I disagree with you. So how much respect do you have for America and how do you show it?
I don't think he was stating any trash. He was pointing out that Red Skelton was feeling nostalgic for an era that wasn't nearly as good as he believed it was. And I agree with him that it wasn't all that great.
What a crock of ****...........Its really a ironic when a Conservative from Hollywood takes a political stand the left jumps all over him but when a whacko lefty like Streisand makes one she is all knowing and loved by the whacked out left.......
HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved watching Red Skelton as a kid. Never missed it.
Ga-wd bwess....
Good luck finding a post on this forum where I've stated my support for anything Barbara Streisand has said.
Just so you know, I don't listen to her either.
Striesand is just and example.... I could name a hundred more lefty stars that are always running their mouth and are clueless about what they are talking about....
Skelton certainly fits that demographic, his career peaked in the 1950's
I don't listen to those lefty stars either.
