When you say stupid things like I would never enlist today, or we are losing the war, or our military is broken it hurts the morale of the troops.........Don't believe me, believe General Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He is the one that said it...............
I don't have to believe any of them.
Ive actually met Mr. Pace, here in Charlotte during the Coca-Cola 600 last year, I was a part of a multi-service detail to stand in dress uniform while NASCAR presented him with an award, that was when he was Vice-Chairman... I got his coin too........
Reguardless, he is a nice guy and all, but just because he is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, doesn't mean he speaks for the troops.
Frankly, I would expect more from a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, why? I'll explain.
When anyone affiliated or connected in any way with the military, be it ex-military, or a Pentagon shrill, makes a comment like the one bolded above, what does it do? Well, I'll tell you what it does. It makes our soldiers look like a bunch of emotional pansies. Im sorry, real soldiers don't let thier morale be affected by comments from Politicians, Protestors, etc. So, Navy Pride, by saying that these comments hurt the troops morale, basically says that these comments hurt thier feelings, and thus, makes them look like a bunch of little emotional cry babies, which makes our soldiers look weak. In a sense, Navy Pride, you are saying our soldiers are weak. Is that the kinda message you want to give? Do you like it when someone twists your message around to suit thier own purposes? This is exactly what Conservatives do every day, and what they HAVE done to the people who have made the comments that you love to bring up soo much.
Now, on behalf of me and the other 131 soldiers from C Co 3/325th AIR, 82nd ABN DIV, that served in Iraq during this unit's most recent deployment from Dec 6 2004, to March 27 2005, for securing the first elections...... I have to say, that in no way does Mr. Pace speak on our behalf when he makes the troops out to be emotionally weak.
