MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Embattled first-term Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will face a recall this spring after an election was ordered Friday following the collection of more than 900,000 signatures in the wake of his push against union bargaining rights.
The Government Accountability Board voted 5-0 to order the recall, a move that has been expected for weeks given the large number of signatures gathered between November and January. It took 540,208 signatures to trigger a recall.
The trouble with all this recall stuff is that it could put political leaders into a perpetual state of campaigning. If they're basically constantly facing election time, they will never stop focusing on that.
But the petitioning is not over yet. Republicans are still attempting to get enough signatures to recall Democratic Senator Jausch, and also have a campaign going to recall one of their own, Republican Senator Schultz, for going against Walker's agenda.
Anyways, no more delays. The recall is now officially on.
Predictions? I think Walker will survive this election - barely, but I believe that the Senate will flip. However, this November, depending on the turnout, and whichever presidential candidate has the better coat tails in Wisconsin, the Senate could flip back to the Republicans.
Confused yet? Just wait. It's going to get even better. LOL.

I don't see how Walker can survive.

Both sides doing what they can to undermine the other side in order to do what they feel their constituents elected them do.I saw no problem with democrats fleeing the state to stop a vote, I saw no problem with the democrats trying to use recall elections to kick out republicans and I see no problem with republicans trying to block those recall elections or trying to do recall elections on democrats.

A new poll is out showing Walker losing the recall election. Bear in mind that this poll is from NBC, which is to the left what Rasmussen is to the right. On that basis of that, I am going to stay out on the limb, and still predict that Walker barely survives.
Poll, in PDF format, is here.
For example, in the same poll, they show Democrats beating the Republicans for the Senate seat there by showing Tammy Baldwin against a generic Republican, when Tommy Thompson is much more popular there than the generic candidate.
I will be fishing in Clearwater, FL on May 8th. I think Walker will squeak by too. The WI dems don't have anyone more palatable IMO. But I'm pretty sure Walker will be a one-term wonder. Everything he is touching in Wisconsin is turning to **** and it's getting harder and harder to spin it otherwise.
I think he is more worried about the John Doe investigation than he is the recall.
Tom Barrett Is In For Walker Recall | TPM2012
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has officially announced that he is running in the recall election against Republican Gov. Scott Walker, following the official triggering of the recall by state election administrators earlier on Friday.
Barrett has also been running for re-election as mayor, a race he is widely expected to win in the election this Tuesday, April 3. The recall primary will be on May 8, and the general election June 5.
Already in the Democratic primary for governor are former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, and Secretary of State Doug La Follette. A recent survey by Public Policy Polling (D) showed Barrett starting out with a lead 36%-29% over Falk, with La Follette at 15% and Vinehout 12%.
If Barrett were to win the contested Democratic primary, this would set up a rematch from 2010, and a test of whether the Tea Party wave of 2010 has receded. He was the Democratic nominee against Walker in 2010, losing by a 52%-47% margin in that Republican year.
“This was not a decision I made lightly,” Barrett wrote in a press release. “I love this state and I care deeply about our future. That’s why I ran for governor in 2010 — even though I knew it was an uphill battle. We ran a strong and energetic campaign fueled by your support and the support of thousands across Wisconsin.” [...]
I saw a HUGE!!!! problem with them fleeing the state. How on EARTH can any sane person not? They should have been kicked out of Congress on their asses.
At one point I was certain that Walker was toast. But the momentum seems to have stalled. You can't drive anywhere around here without seeing Recall Walker yard signs but it's gonna take money. Lot's of money. And Walker has big GOP money from outside influences. I think the whole GOP party realizes there is a lot at stake here as do the citizens.
I would not bet a nickel on the outcome. But I hope Walker get's the boot. Either way, I will be grouper diggin' in the Gulf while Wisconsin burns. That's better than a sharp stick in the eye I suppose.
My personal opinions on recalls is real easy, unless someone commits a crime and gets impeached, there is only one recall and it is the regular election for a certain office (whether it be 2/4 or 6 years before the next election). Voter remorce is not a valid reason IMHO to recall someone.
It would seem that 900,000 people in Wisconsin disagree with you.
but that kind of behavior makes election results almost worth nothing. Because Walker's opponent had more than 1 million voters. So everytime a loser in the election feels like it he could call for a recall if he had enough supporters to do so? Flaunting the rights of the majority and the duly elected official mr. Walker?
I think it is highly unfair and also very prone to political games rather than doing the right thing.
It's all boiling down to who the Dems pick to run.
