No...thats Detroit...Nobody is claiming that people aren't getting shot in Chicago. However, as with many cities, the violence is largely compartmentalized into several problem areas. I've seen conservative media try to paint the picture of the entire city of Chicago as one big war zone, and that's simply not accurate. People are not getting blown away outside of Wrigley Field on a daily basis.
Could be a bit of viral marketing, since the sequel's out in theaters now.
RE: the bold, if you had seen the original Purge, the homeless were not the heroes of that movie.
I forgot, in some people's universe, the wealthy are the true victims of society, because every once in a while someone makes a movie that doesn't portray them as our generous benefactors.
So "progressives" believe that rich people want to kill poor people. Okay.
what is it with this Ocean person and the word "progressive?" Sheesh, he is throwing this word around more in a week than I've seen used in a year.
We have a few posters here (I won't bother naming them, so as not to risk modwrath) who seem to think "progressive" is a synonym for "things/people I don't like."

Absolutely, according to occupiers. Its a liberal delusion.
I must have been sick the day when Occupy Wall Street spoke for anyone other than themselves.
They think they are the guardians of the poor-all it costs is your vote.
yep. had such a ****ty time in 2006 that i said i wouldn't go back to Chicago. had such an awesome time in 2014 that i didn't want to leave. in fact, we stayed an extra day because everything was awesome. the vibe of the place was electric.
The narrative is either approx people a weekend in Chicago are being shot or they are not. Either the media is lying and the city government (and everyone else) is lying, or you stayed in safe business and tourist areas.
Id guess the latter.
Ha, I love how they "dismantle" the camera equipment. They lay the tripods down on the ground and point the camera down. Yeah! That's right, those ****ing reporters won't be using this equipment anytime soon, that's for sure!. Everybody knows it's impossible to stand a tripod back up or point the camera back up. :doh
Yeah, nevermind the rubber bullets they fired at those reporters just a minute before. Do you support the police firing on unarmed reporters?

Wut?
Clearly, you misunderstand me. I was pointing out that their attempt to "dismantle" the camera equipment was laughable and pointless. It was not in any way a condoning of firing tear gas at reporters or ****ing with their equipment. Jesus.
I don't know how else I was supposed to interpret that.
I didn't come up with the title of the article referencing the video.
