Raw Fear Is What I Feel About This Election

I don't know about fear, but anger? Because the inevitable is really really bad, and I'm going to be as pissed about the outcome being forced on me as I want to, thank you very much.

I don't even think it's really bad. We'll all wake up the next morning and crap in Washington will go on as it always has. It isn't Armageddon, it's just another election.

Oh, so it's Obama's fault that the right spent years accusing him of being (1) a secret muslim, (2) from Kenya, (3) a socialist, (4) a communist, (5) a kenyan colonialist, (6) racist against white people, (7) hates America, and of (8) actively trying to Destroy America? (as well as about fifty other things I'm not going to type up).

Bush was lambasted by left wingers and Democrats fiercely but he managed not to contribute to the divisiveness by insulting this group or siding with that group. It would have been better if Obama had followed his example. Alinsky's tactic of personalizing issues, shaming opponents, deliberately provoking anger, and playing one group off against another is best kept in the realm of community organizing. It's not a good model for the President.

What was public support for that bill at the time? Care to tell me?

I would actually like an answer to this question. The party of democracy ignored the will of the people, ignored protests in front of their faces, and ignored every last objection that was made to their behavior.

I want to know two things:

How is that not divisive behavior?
How is that following the principles of democracy that the left champions all the time?

ahhh, true. I disagree. I think what we have seen recently has long been there and is now coming to a boil.

You have seen steady progress reversed by the Obama administration. That is a fact everyone realizes and no one wants to admit it. Someone might call them a racist.

Will Clinton open up our energy industry? No, she will have more Solyndras. Costing taxpayer money and creating about 9 or 10 jobs.

What's Trump really going to do to increase jobs? What is "opening up our energy industry"?

The fact of the matter is that all you have is partisan platitude and propaganda. What is Trump going to do that will increase "jobs" here? In any sustainable manner.

I notice you have no problem using Alinsky's tactics. Are you, perchance, a community organizer?

more right wing fantasy

What steady progress are you talking about?

all they were doing is achieving a republican goal.

Really? Is that why no republican voted for it? Nice try, but fail.

You don't think there are a ****load leases to drill Obamas administration won't approve? You don't think the fracking industry wants to expand? Do you realize there is a moratorium on drilling in the gulf?

These are jobs that pay pretty well. And there would be plenty of them. Look at states like North Dakota.

That may be so long as we don't end up with President Trump. But Trump is far more polarizing and would fracture the People far greater than Obama could ever hope to do.

People may divide themselves in their hatred of Trump. But I have not seen any evidence or suggestion that he himself is deliberately divisive in any way. Politically incorrect, yes, but I see that as a virtue. (Political incorrectness is not the same thing as personal insults that I do not see as a virtue from anybody and Trump does that a lot.) But Trump spells out the ethnicity or country of origin or whatever of those who are breaking our laws or intend us harm. That is not divisiveness. That is speaking the truth. But I have yet to see him try to get this group to resent that group, or blame whatever people for the behavior of another, or favor one group over another, or assume one group is a victim of another, etc. Obama and Hillary both do that on occasion. Obama has done it a lot.

OK, but how many jobs and who can grab them, where is the unemployment highest and can these jobs affect that? It's nice to throw out these platitudes that there are "plenty" of jobs. But there are still concerns with fracking and there are no real numbers about those jobs. Is there anything more quantifiable?

I mean, I'm sure there's room for drilling, though BP showed us exactly what happens with drilling in the gulf, lol. So long as there is proper oversight and regulation, it should be OK (though does Trump intend to implement any of that).

But he is divisive, whether he intends to be or not. He's not so much "speaking truth" as much as spewing out a blustering bravado to make him appear tougher than he actually is.

End of the day, no one is more divisive than Trump.

Remember when the Challenger blew up? Did that stop the space program?

You should report me.

No. I'll leave that to others. Meanwhile I just take my own advice to not feed the trolls and/or argue with idiots and/or engage in exercises of futility. Do have a pleasant day.
