Ramaswamy has a plan to end the Ukrainian war

I saw that interview. Yes, he is the first Millennial to throw his hat in the ring. Big deal. He seems to need to prove himself by talking loudly and emphasizing his views, yet his views are idiotic.

Hmm… that seems a bit like the Obama/Biden solution to the Russian occupation of Ukrainian territory in 2014.

The occupation of Crimea did not lead to a war. I'm sure if Ukraine went to war over that action the Obama Administration would've supported them with arms/aid. 🤷‍♂️

Just give Putin everything he wants, that's all.

But the real threat to the United States is corporate wokeness.

You know, for a candidate who wants to unite America around a common identity, you think he would remember the fact that the only times our country was truly ever truly united was against a common foe, like the Japanese Empire, Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. You'd think he would try to capitalize on that, rather than say "Yeah, let's give Russia what it wants then we can get back to talking about domestic unity...something that the United States has never really had in its quarter millenium of existence."

I forgot he even was a candidate.

He seems to be trying and failing to position himself for the 2024 race to take up the spot left by Andrew Yang, except on the Republican side. He isn't nearly as successful for quite obvious reasons.

That’s treating it like a “minor incursion”.

In early 2014, the Euromaidan protests led to the Revolution of Dignity and the ousting of Ukraine's pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych. Shortly after, pro-Russian unrest erupted in eastern and southern Ukraine. Simultaneously, unmarked Russian troopsmoved into Ukraine's Crimea and took over government buildings, strategic sites and infrastructure. Russia soon annexed Crimea after a highly-disputed referendum. In April 2014, armed pro-Russian separatists seized government buildings in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region and proclaimed the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) as independent states, starting the Donbas war. The separatists received considerable but covert support from Russia, and Ukrainian attempts to fully retake separatist-held areas failed. Although Russia denied involvement, Russian troops took part in the fighting. In February 2015, Russia and Ukraine signed the Minsk II agreements to end the conflict, but the agreements were never fully implemented in the years that followed. The Donbas war settled into a violent but static conflict between Ukraine and Russian proxies, with many brief ceasefires but no lasting peace and few changes in territorial control.

Unconditional surrender is a surefire way to end a war. Brilliant plan, Mr. Ramaswamy.

BTW, who cuts your hair, Lawn Boy?

Call it whatever you want. Russia and Ukraine were not yet directly engaged in all-out war. I think there is definitely some warranted criticism of the Obama Administration in how it handled that event, but to compare that to what Ramaswamy proposes? There is no comparison.

Sure there is: letting Russia keep Ukrainian territory allowed (encouraged?) them to take more of it later.

Here is the entire clip

What would your 2014 Crimea "solution" have been?
