Just because you're around African-Americans does not mean you are exempt from being racist or have racist feelings (present company excluded). I mean, there are a lot of people with racist intentions that are around blacks. This is what I mean.

You know one thing about me is I have a great appreciation of people of all cultures. I wish people saw the beauty of human beings through my eyes. I guess when you do research and having to deal with human beings at hospitals on a daily basis you appreciate the finite nature of humanity.
