Canada doesn't matter much, seeing that they don't respect free speech.
Lol, Canada. Why would anyone want to conquer Canada? Pancakes, maple syrup, and monster mosquitos?
And banning a crazy (yet probably harmless) preacher satisfies you guys?
Yes, it does.
Really? Not much happening in Canada huh?
The Quran burning pastor form Florida is the news again but here in Canada. In this article by The Globe, it says that the pastor has for now been barred for entry because of a breach of peace charge in his past. I think the real reason they are stopping him is that we don't want him here. We don't take too kindly to people like him and don't want him in our country. What are American's thoughts on this?
Edit: He was travelling to Cnada to debate several people about free speech including: Imam Steve Rockwell the director of Sheikh Deidat Mosque, Dr Masud Ansari a prominent Islamic author, Dr Bikram Lamba Canada’s most prominent Sikh leader and author, Ron Banerjee Director of Canadian Hindu Advocacy.
You don't think that's fascist?
Not at all.

well Canada were involved in both world wars before the US was.
My thoughts? It doesn't matter either way. He's an American with rights to free speech, so we tend to tolerate people like that, whether we like it or not. As for him being barred from entry to your country- that is your country's business, and not ours.
America only tolerates free speech from its own citizens everyone else would have a hard time gaining entry to the US, just like Canada.
that this thread is a waste of time.
and so far the majority of posters have insulted Canada....
Again, I ask. And???
Apparently, he wanted to hear opinions. If people are offended by it, then I'd say it's their problem. I have absolutely no problem with Canada barring anyone they want, and would I feel the same about the US. There is no social contract which says Canada has to take anyone in, besides the ones they want.
opinions not childish insults!
Oh for God's sake. I think we're all big boys and girls here, and we can handle insults without getting all butt hurt about it.
Couldn't care less. It's your country's laws, and if he doesn't like it, he can play a game of hide and go **** himself. The Quran burning pastor form Florida is the news again but here in Canada. Before a lot of you American posters get all bent out of shape on this remember Canada is a soverign country and has the right to refuse entry to anyone it wants. Just as America had the right to pull over 2 British teenagers, arrest them, interrogate them and then send them home all because of a tweet which was lost in translation.
well Canada were involved in both world wars before the US was.

We get it. Canada good, America not so much.
thats not what im saying. Im saying Canada is exactly the same as America. As for the world war quote that was i response to a poster saying " Canada just go to war when we tell you too".
Please remove the blinkers please.
No, Canada is NOT exactly the same as America. It's social policies are superior, it is not a constitutional republic, it's a sovereign country with it's own laws, it's own government and it's own set of cultures. Canada does not extradite if the death penalty is possible. Canada's gun laws are much more strident than America's. It does not, nor does UK or some European countries, have the same stringent speech freedoms that are constitutionally protected in the US, which quite frankly is the topic of this thread, not how Americans are going to be "bent out of shape" because Canada's laws are different than ours when it comes to free speech.
So no, Canada and America are not the same, and it's foolish to believe otherwise.
Please remove your own blinkers, the ones which cause you to lash out any time an American compares its own constitutional system to countries which are governed differently. Not better. Not worse. Differently.
