question for knife people

Check you state laws, but they are probably illegal. Switchblades are stupid anyways, you can buy a manual folder that you can open just as fast, plus it is more durable and can't hurt you by opening when you don't expect it to. Knives are tools not fashion accessories.

http://pweb.netcom.com/~brlevine/pa.txt

(c) Definition.--As used in this section "offensive
weapon" means... any... dagger, knife, razor or cutting
instrument, the blade of which is exposed in an automatic
way by switch, push-button, spring mechanism, or
otherwise...

It would appear in a strictly-non legal advice sort of fashion that switchblade are in fact illegal in PA.

NCFY should move to Los Angeles. Nunchakus are illegal, but a goddamn katana isn't. That makes so little sense you sort of have to respect it.

Blowguns are illegal in California (do you know how many people have been killed by blowguns in California?) None that's right none. Lame!

Dood it is a felony if you get caught with one. Not worth it. I have a bencmade:

I had one:

Benchmade 9050 AFO Auto

But it is not worth it to keep given the police state environment and the anti-self defence crowd.

Back in '95 I got busted by customs with a Stilleto switchblade that I had I gotten in Puerto Vallarta under what I will simply call "interesting circumstances".

I put it in my carry-on and brought it home with me. Customs pulled me aside and searched my bags.

Back then it wasn't to big of a deal (they were more interested in finding drugs) so the customs guy just took it away from me. He said that having one of them was a felony, and that I could be in some serious **** for it. I think back in '95 they were more interested in finding drugs in my bag than a knife. If I did the same thing now, I'd be in some serious ****, but back then no big deal, apparently.

It is beyond stupid that PA has such permissive gun laws but such strict knife laws. Would you rather have people with assault weapons or knives around you?

Considering the "interesting circumstances" that led to me getting the stilletto in the first place, I'd have to go with preferring knives.

pff, I carry a switchblade in my purse and I could care less if it's against the law. I don't feel comfortable with my gun in my purse- loose like that- and I feel more protected with my knife on me. If I ever do get caught, I will take my case all the way until I get justice for protecting myself. The robberies and purse snatching have been crazy bad these past 4 months here and I just don't feel all that safe, unless I have something on me to be able to use to defend myself.

You are risking a felony that would lead to you losing your gun rights.

I have many sources for what you need if you can carry, let me know.

Gives me a reason to buy another purse

Concealed Weapon Purses

I still don't want to give up my switchblade though. She's been with me through thick and thin.

I hear you, my benchmade was so convienent, but again, you get caught and you get convicted you are in all sorts of hurt.

Voting, gun rights, everytime you get pulled over you may have to do the "felony stop" dance....

Not worth it. All it takes is one bubba cop to have a bad day to jack you up.

Why are you guys so in favor of switchblades? Carrying a knife is reasonable, but why chose something that is both illegal and inferior in functionality? A manual flick open folder has all the same advantages, while being legal, more durable and safer. I don't get what makes switchblade so popular.

because they're cool as ****. Teddy Boys knew what was up.

A chav with fancy clothes and a switchblade is still a damn chav.

If you want a cool knife, get a butterfly knife. They are fun to open, and are legal for both concealed and open carry (according to wikipedia) in Penn.

butterfly knives require the kind of dexterity that I don't remotely posses. they are all cool as **** though.

Just practice. You'll look dumb at first, so do it in private. But once you've done it enough muscle memory will kick in and you'll be able to do it no problem.

I'm worried I'll cut myself up during the learning process. I don't want to slit my wrist and die because I wanted a cool ballisong.

I really want a stiletto switchblade, but they're illegal nearly everywhere. I keep finding "automatic knives" online. What are these? Are they legal?

A switchblade is so cliche`. A well made and perfectly balanced gerber throwing dagger is so much classier.
