Question for Californians

Going back to your first assertion — see #12 on page 1 — your initial comments on Los Angeles — and then #47 where I copied your words from #12.

LA is a desert ~ Bodi

Can you simply admit that you misspoke, or are we to pretend that #12 was never written?

I already have... a few times. ;)

Doesn’t matter that much now as it’s been demonstrated that no admission is forthcoming.

Has President Trump provided any video evidence of the military entering CA and turning the water on?
Has President Trump ever provided scientific evidence that the argument about the environment was "Fake"

I do not take President Trump posts as nothing more than bs. I do not trust what he says unless it is fact checked.

The same as the city of San Diego, very Mediterranean climate. Do we have deserts in the state of CA? Absolutely, but they're not in major metropolitan areas that are heavily populated.

Is President Trump's post correct that the military entered California and turned the water back on to flow down to southern California?

Not much of answer. I asked you because you live in CA.

I will take it that President Trump is spreading misinformation regarding the event.

That is correct. Trump was spreading misinformation, and @trixare4kids is seeking to deflect conversation away from that topic and toward Biden or liberals or really anything else that she can spool up. The reality is that the military did not "enter California" and magically unleash the water or whatever Trump's word salad was intended to suggest. It was just another lie he posted in order to feel better about himself.

I happen to read President Trump's TruthSocial post once a week. I find it to be mostly bs and poorly written. It amazes me how many take his statements as the truth.

You asked me for my opinion. I gave it.

Near as I can tell, it's a bit like a religion with Trump as the God figure. He disseminates his Word to his followers, and they take it to be Truth. So, for MAGA on our site, Donald quite literally ordered the military to enter California and turn some valve, unleashing some righteous flood of water. As it is a matter of faith, they quite literally are incapable of believing that he made all of it up.

I was asking was President Trump's truthsocial post correct in that the military turned on the water to flow to southern California.
A simple yes or no would have been sufficient.

The response does not need to be an opinion. You living in California should be able to say if the post was true or not about the military. Instead you just try to deflect.

From my research President Trump post is misinformation.

He didn't write that, I am sure. And, I doubt that he even read it. Someone probably told him, in a few sentences, what it said and then he wrote his GD awful big signature on it
I concur. That Project 2025 guy spent 4 years drawing up EO's. Apparently he thought an EO could simply overrule federal (or state) law.

So, our evil idiot of a President just had the Army Corps of Engineers dump out all our water that we need saved for the summer as a political stunt.

Just so it is understood, we have had a horrible water year here in the Central Valley due to the La Nina. We have hardly any snowpack. We need every drop to get us through summer, which is stored in dams like Lake Kaweah. Despite what our mendacious executive has assured the public, California does not have a glut of fresh water across the state simply going to delta smelt. Most of our water, especially here in the Central Valley, is kept in dams for our massive farms and everyday regular people and businesses.

This water cannot get to Southern California. We are a massive valley, and Los Angeles is over a coastal mountain range. This water will just flow through the Valley and be wasted. This is akin to the French Monarchy saying it would help feed the starving peasants and then taking all the bread and food and tossing it into the ocean. A costly, irreparable waste that helps absolutely no one. And in case anyone wonders, nearly every single person and elected officials in charge of the water districts and maintenance in the Central Valley are rock-ribbed conservative Republicans, most if not all of whom assuredly voted for Donald Trump. Which is why they are so restrained in their language, even in their utter frustration.

I read that article shaking my head all the way through.

A good leader recognizes they know nothing and asks "what can I do to help?"

A bad leader thinks he knows more than the people in the field and makes stupid decisions.

LBJ was an example of a good leader. He was always on the phone asking people what they thought.

Stalin was an example of a bad leader.

I think that the real issue behind Southern Californias water shortage is that Southern California is a ****ing desert. Literally.

LA is a desert, and it is surrounded by deserts. They have to steal water from the Owens River Valley, the Colorado River, Oregon, NorCal, etc.
Arizona is also a desert. Some areas in Phoenix have been having trouble scrounging up water for residents.

Moreover, trump knows that MAGA appears to be vociferously anti-California.

Understood and people in tose areas should have to face hardhsips... Tornado Alley and Florida, CA and CA have to deal with yearly shit... why is Phoenix not having to see thousands displaced and hundreds dead du to lack or water... or how about moere?

Sadly it is untrue.

California will continue to have chronic water shortages thanks to the idiot Dems who run the state refusing to add any new water storage in the last 45 years while the state's population almost doubled.
For much of the last 45 years, the state was actually controlled by Republicans wasn't it?

Not for much, and not at all in the last 30 years. The last time California had a GOP governor, assembly and senate was in 1996.

Ever since then, the Dems have run the state. Mostly into the dirt.

Just like he punished us with his tax cuts, he does this because CA won't bend the knee. I'm really curious if the CA R House Representatives will vote to tie aid to CA to the debt limit. Imo, that would end their chances in 2026. Go ahead R's, it will never pass the Senate.

Thank you for helping me make my point... anything else?
