Putin refuses to meet with Zelensky in Turkey

Surprise suprise. Putin lied about wanting talks with Zelensky and is too much of a coward to fly to Istanbul. Putin does not want a ceasefire and does not want peace. Now we will see if Trump has the backbone to back up his words with action and finally places the sanctions on Russia he has threatened or is as feckless and weak as he usually appears to the world. Talk is cheap Donald, now is the time for action.

I would have been shocked if he had. He does not consider Zelensky as an equal head of state?
 
Just like Stalin, he’s afraid if he goes anywhere out of country he’ll be deposed.
 
Putin can't make concessions in this conflict; if he does, his own people will remove him.
 
“Finally” place the sanctions? There were already extensive sanctions on Russia in the first place.

Trump has backpedaled on applying new strict sanctions that would impact Putin's sale of oil to finance his war. This was months ago.

We will see if Trump is a paper tiger or not. So far he has only talked about new sanctions on Russia.

Putin's people do what he tells them. He controls the media and tells them what to believe and what to do.

I was actually referencing his inner circle; top military et al. He needs to deliver on his promise to take Ukraine; so much blood and treasure squandered for nothing won't end well.

Meh. If they don't like it they might find themselves slipping and falling off the balcony on the 30th floor. One or two of those falls and the rest will just shut up.

Yes Putin has painted himself into a corner and the only way out is for him to fall on his sword. He is now being made a fool of by an ex-comedian turned President. He was given far too long to declare victory and leave Ukraine and now it is too late. His dreams of glory has been his downfall. He should have known that Ukrainians are far better fighters than Russians. Even in Afghanistan it was Ukrainians that got all the medals.
 
Every claim about sanctions somehow stoping the Russians has been proven to be utterly false.
 
If that were true the Nazis and their pet Ukrainian fascists wouldn’t have been smashed.....and modern Ukraine’s offensives wouldn’t have failed so pathetically

I’m sure Putin has more tricks he could pull out of his sleeve with more help from North Korea, China, and Iran.

The US made extremely heavily use of foreign “contractors” in both Iraq and Afghanistan, to the point where they nearly outright equaled or outnumbered Americans in some areas

hmmmm you may have to consult reliable sources. Putin NEVER said, as you claim, that he wants talks with Zelensky. Putin invited Ukrain back to Turkey to resume the negotiations that were halted back in 2022

Has the US not been supporting Ukraine since 2022? How is Putin supposed to be forcing Trump to do what the US is already doing?

Ukraine should send a negotiating team to Turkey, like they did in 2022. Zelensky sitting at the table will only guarantee a fiasco like his session at the Oval Office
