Apparently, some African leaders did like the fact that Hillary and France had Gaddafi lynched and that country bombed, rather than allowing the leaders of Africa to help resolve the situation.

Do you honestly think that Russia doesn't gather compromising information on american businessmen? I'm not saying he does or doesn't have anything on Trump, but are you so naive to think that Russia doesn't attempt to gather whatever they can? Blackmail is to Russia as Apple Pie and Baseball is to america.

Actually that's probably exactly what the Russians are doing. Putin is KGB. He knows how to handle situations like this. I would not be suprised in the slightest if each and every American company operating in Russia had FSB informants among their personnel funneling information.
