Yes, we are the strongest military in the world. By the way, let me ask you a stupid question: why did we in VietNam, in Iraq, in Syria, in Afghanistan if we had the best weapons? Was that because we were facing people that did not mind dying and were willing to go all in for their beliefs?

You think Putin will back off of our military if we publicly humiliate him? You think he will keep this fight in Europe given that we are the country he hates the most?

I do not have an answer nor do I believe there is an answer. This was the reason I put this OP up. We seem to be at the mercy of what Putin decides to do.

Do you know of anyone in this world (Trump or Xy perhaps) that could make him not do what he wants to do?

Putin see's a weak US president and a strong China.

China is only more than happy that Putin is spitting in Biden's eye, and will make up the trade offsets created by western sanctions.

Isn't it a shame that the Euro's didn't take Putin seriously years ago?

One fact that you cannot wish away and close your eyes to.

Our world is tied in economically in a stronger way than ever before. What happens to one country causes ripples to all...........in a more and deeper way than ever before.

We no longer depend on ourselves for anything. Think about it. If China/Mexico/Canada, etc decided not to sell us the products that we need and that are in our computers, our phones, our televisions, the products we use for every day life, would we survive in a good way?

This is no longer a world where any nation can go it alone.

You avoided the question. If there anyone in the world that can make Putin do what he does not want to do?

Ret, this OP is about Putin and Putin alone. It is about the person he is and what he wants (and has decided) to do. Why you comment on other people is beyond me. Putin could push the nuke button tomorrow and you (and I) would likely die. What can you do to prevent that from occurring?

I am not looking for solutions or ideas on how to "address the crisis". That is the problem, we are not in control of what Putin does. He is the only one in control of what he does,

That's because we're out of our element. And it's hard to determine who the enemy is as all look the same.
And they are masters in covert action. And our military should not be in their back yards.

800 military establishments off shore seems to have nazi overtones.

The conservative right wing Global Economy has placed the USA economy in a risky arena. The what our wars and off shore bases are all about. A terribly expensive endeavor which I doubt is paying back.

You solve the problem by not presenting weakness as Biden routinely does. Walk softly but carry a big stick. Biden is to old to carry the load.
 
I think he's mostly trying to destabilize the west. The Wall Street casino gamblers hate uncertainty, and Putin ****ing around with war should give them all of the uncertainty they need to mess up our economy as well as Europe's. The rich will shitcan the workers, and then the far right will have a bargaining position with voters. Seems like a pretty obvious plan.

Ok Ret, I will back off your replies. Evidently, you cannot (or will not) face the actual problem and I do not have the ability to open your mind and your ears.

Perhaps if you can think of how someone like myself could make you see what you do not want to see, we can find a way to make Putin see what he does not want to see. That would be a great plus. Then again, it is not something possible, is it?

Again, this is not Putin against Biden. It is Putin against the rest of the world (not just the U.S.). You believe that a strong U.S. president could make Putin change his mind about Ukraine and see it differently than how Putin sees it?

Let me ask you a stupid question. I am a strong person. Have I ever been successful in having you see things the way I see them and change the way you see them?
