There isn’t much difference between a 19 year old and a 16 year old

Fair. Either way you interpret gun violence is a huge problem that only the us has to worry about.

This isn't your typical filicide case. Take chris watts for example. He had a girlfriend and wanted to get rid of his family to start a new life. He would have killed them no matter what. In this case this guy just wanted to hurt the mother emotionally in a brutal way. I doubt he would have done it without a gun. This isn't something he planned and thought about for months.

while not months, we do know he intended to kill the kids ... otherwise he would not have tracked down the boy who fled to then inflict his mayhem

Except that there is. Particularly 3 years of a train during the time of life where quite a bit of maturing is done.

Also there is quite a bit of difference between them legally speaking. One can enter a contract in the other can't we can have sexual relations with a different 19-year-old then and one cannot

That being said There are 16 year olds that are gang bangers and do act violent mostly violence against other gangs and this is most of this violence you're talking about but we've got to eliminate nuance to manipulate the facts to fit our narrative don't we?

From the story it looked like he snapped. Either way gun control is the answer.
