Mr. President , now that you have won the 2012 election and been sworn in after all the celebrations, and parties are over ,what is your first action as the new leader of America?

I'm sure I'm not the only American that will ask this question.
Although many presidents have been capable of multitasking.
To address all the important issues in America that need strict attention would be asking too much of any leader.

Yet the question remains.
Many groups will compete for the attention of the new president to address their cause first.
Some may get what they want, some may be dissapointed.

There is a very popular phrase going around today called "bad economy".
Not that this humble poster could ever be in a position to tell the leader of America what to do, but mearly suggest that the new president address the economic issue of America first.

I'm sure there are others who think their issue should come first, after all this is mearly my opinion.

This thread is about priorities I do not expect all Americans to automaticly agree with my opinion.
After all we all live in a free society with free speech.
:peace
Ladies and Gentlemen I await your opinions comments and veiws on this matter.

even if ı am not american, because i am a human ı support occupation of wall street is it enough :))

Although there has been many who critisize thoes who protest against corporate greed many support the protestors.

I guess that would be one way of addressing the "bad economy" of America by the people.

Question Thousands of people protested on Wall street , that news has faded.
Michael Jackson died in 2009 that news goes on.
Which is more important to the American people?:peace

I would:
  • Plan on being a one-term president, first up.
  • Push for term limits and use the bully pulpit, national media, and every trick in the playbook to force Congress to address the issue and pass the necessary legislation.
  • Appoint an advisory group of businessmen to take a scalpel to the national budget and, again, use the bully pulpit, etc., to force Congress to address same.
  • Push for a line item veto to use for pork barrel spending. (Sending any vetoed line item back to Congress for a 2/3 majority vote. No bridge to nowhere w/o a 2/3 majority.)
  • Double my security detail while in Washington, DC.

I like these.

I'd also suggest that balance of trade needs to be a priority. He/she can address it by cutting the expense of what gets produced here (lower taxes or less regulations on fuel mining) or any other way that makes sense.

So basicly you are saying American unumployment could be put on the backburner once again?
That the unskilled workers of America just wait while the politics of D.C. gets straightened out?
I too am against pork belly spending, but I am also against outsourceing millions of jobs to foriegn cheap labor, and the trickle down theory.
These did not work then they will not work now.

I respect your veiws on priority for the new president.
I respectfully disagree but as I said in the OP you have your opinion, fix government, I have mine more jobs for American people.:peace

Perhaps a way to have more balance between what is imported and what is exported?

Although this would be among the highest on my list to prioritize it is not the first priorty.:peace

If we fix government, we'll have more jobs for the American people. If we stop taxing people to death, they'll have more money to spend. If they have more money to spend, demand will increase. If demand increases, we'll have more jobs. I realize that unskilled people are in trouble today. But we can't subvert our own system of government in order to keep them employed. Don't we offer the unemployed a trade education? They sure do in Illinois, I know.

How do you stop jobs from being outsourced to countries that pay $2.00 an hour?? Tax the companies out of existence and lose the thousands of jobs they do provide? We live in a free country; and if companies want to outsource jobs, I don't see there's much we can do about it. Until you tax a company over the amount they'd have to pay American workers to do the same thing, why would they stop? And if you do that, you'll either tax 'em right out of business or create a different kind of death spiral...goods costing too much for consumers to afford...demand down the toilet...employees laid off...companies out of business. Or, failing that, companies would simply move their corporate offices out of the United States and start importing their product.

In a country where we pride ourselves on the notion that we should all be taking care of each other....that big business should "give more," why do we draw lines at our own border? The world needs jobs. Those $2 an hour jobs (or whatever) are keeping some people from starving. "We are the world."

Having said that, I'll add one item to my list:

Invest in rebuilding the infrastructure in the United States....our bridges, power grids, etc., etc. Give them teaspoons to dig with if necessary -- and put a million people to work. Those million jobs would create a demand for goods and services...and more jobs would be created as a result.

I would not invest money to "save teachers" or "save policemen." Why? Because when the Federal funds run out, we are NOT going to fire these people. We're going to transfer the burden to the individual states, and taxpayers will get it in the neck once again.

Well first let me address this coment on fixing government .
Bush had 8 yrs to do that 6 of which was with a Republican senate, a Republican house and a Republican white house staff.
What parts of government got fixed?

Second of all you speak of no more taxes and more money circulation.

First of all like many rightwingers and liberals as well as those getting that nice check from the government for paying the government taxes you forget one small detail.

Corporations nor rich CEOS DON'T control the flow of money in America paychecks do.
Paychecks from working people are responsible for tax revenue as well as that all too important retail sale .
That's called money circulation.
When people have jobs they pay taxes buy stuff
When unemployed they turm to taxpayer money and go on a tight budget, no taxes paid , not a lot of stuff to buy

You have said how do you stop jobs from being outsourced to a country that pays $2.00 an hr?
A better question would be when supply drops and the demand for your product hits close to that red ink mark who will you sell your product to then?
As far as $2.oo an hr jobs you are thinking manufacturing but manufacturing is not the only job being outsourced.

You may not invest money to save teachers or policemen "which by the way pay taxes."
However every person that has a job will invest in the following,
Pentagon
CIA
FBI
NSA
HOMELAND SECURITY
POLITICIANS SALARIES AND THEIR HEALTHCARE AND THEIR SECURITY.
Tax cuts for the rich, bailouts for the companies reserch grants ect.
That's just a few of the money taxpayers pay for at the top.

Now some loud talking politicians may DEMAND cuts in education or local and state law enforcement at the bottom.
However that loud talk won't fly at the top.

The less paychecks the less tax revenue nobody at the top is cutting their budget.
So eventually that will mean raiseing taxes across the board for the people that do have jobs.
After all those tax cuts for the rich has to be paid from somewhere?

FYI, The American labor force has always outsourced some labor overseas, this practice went on as far back as the the late 50's.
Somewhere along the way somebody got real greedy, that was a mistake
Are prices going down after outsourceing?
Is tax revenue going up after outsourceing?

Is supply up or down for American corpoate products?:peace

I must admit I am not familiar with Turkish customs
I have heard that the Turkish people are tough and very independent when it comes to their way of life.
As I have said this is what I hear, it has been neither confirmed or not.

It is mearly my opinion that in my country if I had to choose between which news story was important Michael Jackson's death of 2008 or why are people protesting in American streets today
I would prefer to hear about the protestors of American streets today.:peace

We're getting partisan? Why must people always do that??? You asked what EYE would do....not what Republicans would do. As far as I'm concerned, our elected representatives in Washington are whores. Every single one of them are part of the problem. They create the problem...and then they campaign and tell us how they're going to fix it. Jerks all.

I'm well aware that it's not just manufacturing jobs going overseas. I get that message every time I call for computer support. Even many catalog companies are outsourcing overseas.

I just don't know how to address this. You sound very angry. Very confused. We already know what the problems are, my friend. Now we have to look for solutions. And finger-pointing? That's of no help at all.

I hope you feel better.

Why is Mr. Cain against the protestors of Wall Street, after all protestors do vote don't they?:peace

Where was Mr. Paul's outcry in 2004 or 2008?

He was there, it just wasn't fashionable. He's riding the same horse in Presidential race now that he did 4 years ago.

The rest of the Republican party, on the other hand, are "johnny-come-latelys"

First of all yes I am an Independant voter that is partisan against the bipartisanship of 2 parties Democrats and Republicans including splinter groups of liberials , Tea Party and Libertarian going on in Washington D.C. politics.
The blame game pointing fingers and name calling ain't done **** for the American people or the American economy or for the American way of life.
If these asshole jerks want to wallow in a gutter fine just don't drag America and it's people down with them.

If American corporations don't at least start curbing outsourceing now, in the future American business won't have to worry about globalization more foriegn products will be sold in America than American products.

You are correct I am angry but not confused, ask around see if there are any more angry Americans in America about the National debt, the economy, the budget cuts, outsourceing, D.C. politics merging with private organizatiuions?
Bottom line tax revenue is down unemployment is up.
If tax revenue continues to slide there will be a tax increase this is not a matter of if but a matter of when.:peace

Ron Paul's head may be differant but at heart it's the Republican veiws that are there.
Ron Paul won't stray too far from the Republican path if he does the Tea Party will be all over his ideas.

Actually I can't help but feel sorry for Ron Paul; on the one hand he wants the Independant vote WITH NEW IDEAS on the other he don't want to GO BREAKING CONSERVITIVE RULES TO make the Tea Party mad at him.:peace

You hit the nail on the head. A lot of people know that there are big problems, but substitute anger for answers. After all, answers are much harder.

My sense that is the great failing of the current administration. Not that everything is not fixed already as it will take time to fix, but that most people feel we are on the wrong track to getting this fixed.

1. Bring all troops fighting home immediately, ending the war(s) and thus saving billions daily.

2. Make sure my Chief of Staff understands my positions perfectly.

3. Protect our borders with the troops that came home.

4. Have a double Manhattan...I deserve one!

When answers to segregation failed anger was tried, when answers to the Viet Nam war failed the anger of protestors omn thr homefront was tried.

I agree with you on these very important issues exept I still think fixing the economy should come first.
Oh yeah, and if I was still drinking it would be a double shot of Jim B. I was always partial to bourbon.:peace

Of course everyone is entilted to their own opinion.:peace

Because nobody knows what the hell they're protesting. They spend more time stealing **** and blocking traffic than anything else.
