A Los Angeles attorney is accusing 200 Catholic priests of sexual abuse across California.According to NBC affiliate in Los Angeles, attorney Ray Boucher has mapped out at least sixty locations of where suspected priests reside in California.
“Many if not all these priests have admitted to sexual abuse,” Boucher told NBC Los Angeles. “They live within a mile of 1,500 playgrounds, schools and daycare centers.”
But hey, their outdated views on contraception, despite the fact that 98% of Catholic women use it, needs to be respected and taken totally seriously.
What a bunch of screwballs.
But, but, but... you can't be Catholic all the while knowingly take contraception.
Actually, you can. It is between that person and their God.
Pope Paul VI said:Therefore We base Our words on the first principles of a human and Christian doctrine of marriage when We are obliged once more to declare that the direct interruption of the generative process already begun and, above all, all direct abortion, even for therapeutic reasons, are to be absolutely excluded as lawful means of regulating the number of children. Equally to be condemned, as the magisterium of the Church has affirmed on many occasions, is direct sterilization, whether of the man or of the woman, whether permanent or temporary. Similarly excluded is any action which either before, at the moment of, or after sexual intercourse, is specifically intended to prevent procreation—whether as an end or as a means.
.... Actually, you can't:
The HCC is the final word on dogma for catholics.
It is so easy to bash Catholics in this country.
Well, maybe some of the catholic churches shouldn't have fought so hard for the child molesters in their ranks and people wouldn't be turned off so much by them. Ever think of that sport?
Well kiddo, thanks for cutting off the rest of my point. It isn't the only religion that makes mistakes or have idiots in the ranks.
It is so easy to bash Catholics in this country. Probably because they look like everyone else. Go bash another religion. See how far that goes.
If I find a super liberal who rapes children should I post them up and say those damn liberals, this is just what they wanted. Do you think I am supporting the priest in any way? Do you think I support child molestation? No. Clearly not. I am saying everyone in this country finds it so easy to bash catholics, but they are to afraid to go after anyone else. It is weak.
There is no other religion as influential in America as Christianity. That's why it gets criticitzed....I don't care if some cave dweller with no education does something (as long as it's not to Americans)....I do care when an organization is trying to shape social policy in the US.
And you call yourself a libertarian. LOLBut hey, their outdated views on contraception, despite the fact that 98% of Catholic women use it, needs to be respected and taken totally seriously.
What a bunch of screwballs.
Child molesters are the bottom of the barrel. The lowest of all things a human (if you can even call them that at this point) can do. The Catholic church specifically has hidden, fought for, and even lied about child molesters in their ranks.
Sorry, but when American mosques or other religions start showing they have a high case of child molestation, maybe I'll switch targets. Until then, any Catholic church (or supporter) that has aided and abetted these child molesters in anyway deserves all the criticism they get.
There are cults in America that deserve criticism, but the Catholic church itself has had a hand in keeping things quiet. They deserve no mercy from criticism.
I know it is hard to look past their faults for some.
Yeah child molestation is a little hard to look past, sorry.
Yeah child molestation is a little hard to look past, sorry.
ah yes, God forbid they are different from the people who preach being different.
Your right, it was all of them. The whole church took part.
The people who perpetrated those crimes should be punished. Not the whole organization.
Not even making a value judgement of what they push for...if you're going to weigh in on public policy...you're going to be controversial.
