I recall that liberals criticized Bush for many of the same reasons, ie that there's a lot of **** going on, and for the fact that he spent time at Camp David. I will call this topic Exhibit A when I present my argument that hardly anything matters beyond party affiliation.
In a few years we may have a Republican President and you'll be defending him/her every time they go to Camp David or take a break.

Presidents need a break, it's true. However I would like to point out two things. First Obama's detachment from any leadership role, any work on our economy etc.. It's not like the guys been pulling all nighters with his Cabinet about job creation for the past month and doing double duty at the negotiation table with Republicans on the debt ceiling. Let's put things into perspective here.
At the height of the worst recession and soon to be depression in 75 years, how many weeks of vacation did our Congress grant themselves this year? 23 1/2 weeks of vacation. But they don't call it vacation. They call it non-legislative periods. They call their time off "work periods" for meeting their constituents and raising campaign funds.
Here's a thought. If you want to meet your constituents, consider that a cost of doing business. Americans should not be paying Congressmen and women to hang out in their home state shaking hands any more than I should get paid for waving at homeless men at the Walmart stoplight.
Funny how the wingnuts are only concerned with Obama's working schedule and not Congress'
I guess the rightwingers forgot how they whined when the Dems took control of the House and forced them to work 5 days a week. Meanwhile, the republicans are working hard to set a new record for laziness
.......after "blasting" Congress for not working hard enough....
..... and refusing to meet with Republican Leadership to hammer out a deal on the debt ceiling.....
.....well, I guess holding SEVEN TIMES as many Fundraisers as President Bush had at this point in his Presidency can really take it out of a guy...
... I mean, he's so busy, what with his golfing.... and his vacations.... and more golfing..........
Look, Ma, No Sense ofShameIrony
President Barack Obama will be taking a break for the Independence Day holiday weekend.
He'll travel to Camp David in western Maryland Friday afternoon, following some morning meetings....
You're clear indication you do NOT want to discuss facts is evident, so I'll just bypass rest of your ignorant words.
Your attempt to curve the spotlight off of Obama and onto Congress may work other places, but 400+ congress people are not playing golf 13 weekends in a row and are NOT taking vacation at Camp David.
I'd say "nice try" but it was actually a feeble try.:coffeepap

You're right. I can't refute "wingnut" and "rightwingers". Sorry you had to pull Obama defense duty this weekend...Translation: You can't refute anything I said, so you won't even try.
When you get some better comebacks for 13 straight weekends of golf, and the lack of leadership that even the Democrats do not like, let me know.Instead, you'll just immaturely post some personal attacks even though it's against the rules to do so.
Bush didn't go to Texas unless Congress was out. The Senate is staying behind in an EMERGENCY session because of the debt ceiling. If a Republican President skips town to take a few days off under these conditions, yeah, I would be critiquing.

The post you're responding does not contain the word "wingnut" or "rightwingers". Your posts are so weak that you have to make up stuff in order to have somethibng to say.

If you cannot be honest about what you already said, (as I just pointed out you were not), any you expect me to believe your next sentence which is you supposed political support? You just spent approximately 6-8 responses in two different threads defending near indefensible actions. So you're being adversarial for no good reason or ... ?I do not support Obama, nor did I vote for him. Again, if you didn't make up stuff, you'd have nothing to say

Second, the mans priorities have clearly been on re-election during arguably, the worst economic crisis in the U.S. since the 1930's. His other priority seems to be golf - which optically, looks very bad and is indefensible again, when so many millions are unemployed, more millions are losing their homes, we're involved in 3 wars one of which Obama's Admin is being sued by the Congress (not sure if "sue" is the right word but you know what I mean).
0bama record, 14.7 million officially unemployed with 15.8% total unemployment, 4 trillion added to the debt, double digit misery index, 1.8% GDP growth, record budgets, no leadership skills at all, 29 fund raisers, 76 rounds of golf. Yes, that is leadership and a record to be proud of.
We all know that this is a President with zero leadership skills as a leader can never delegate responsibility but that is all Obama does. Truman said "the buck stops here" but with Obama he never sees the buck or passes it to someone else.
:2wave:

If you can't read with comprehension, there's no point in responding to your delusions.
Again, the post you were responding to did not contain the words "wingnut" or "rightwinger". That was in an earlier post. You're so bereft of a factual argument, that you had to go digging through earlier posts to find something you didn't like, and then pretend it was something I had said in my most recent post.
And, in case you've forgotten, the topic of this thread is about Obama's vacations. And, because you don't seem able to read with comprehension, I'll point out that I haven't defended ANY presidential vacations. I merely pointed out the hypocrisy of those who complain about Obama's ONE vacation day, while remaining silent (as you continue to do) about how republicans have taken more 160 vacation days.
As Obama's mantra of "Hope and Change" identifies, I already know the "HOPE" part is dead and buried. I'm wondering if this President can "CHANGE" or if he's going to put his own interests of re-election above a suffering country and it's people. Were I a betting man, I'd bet the farm on the latter.
