The founding of America was by Puritans, who made the human body shameful.

That was an "original sin."

I'm no theologian. But Adam and Even were naked, or so Christians say. So what's shameful is that we are taught to be ashamed. Ashamed of our urges. Practices like sodomy, male on male sex, female on female, and much of the world practiced ageist homosexuality. In Greece and throughout Rome it was custom for a successful man to take a boy lover, whom he would also educate and "sponsor". Pottery and art depict men fondling the genitals of boys. At least one pope took a boy lover.

Porn is there because people want it. It's like drugs, if there was no demand there would be no actors and actresses.

In Caligula, there is one scene of graphic sex (a hell of a scene but only one). It got its push back because of the 'suggested' scenes where homosexuality was hinted at.

From my perspective someone seems to have been very successful at convincing people sex is 'bad'.

It is God's greatest gift and not intended purely for reproduction.
