Then we need to know how the 14 yo was interrogated. Was any adult with him during the interrogation? Any legal representation? Any video or audio evidence? I'd not trust the police absolutely without question, especially when it comes to minors. They have more than that. The 14 year old gave him up. They didn't have this guy's name until the 14 year old told him who he was.
Also, this wouldn't be the first defense attorney to say his client was innocent.
I don't know what's going on - who did what to whom. I just know the whole thing is off.
De'Marquise Elkins, Charged With Murder Of 13-Month-Old Antonio Santiago, Is Not Guilty, Lawyer Says
The 17 yo boy is now charged with murder. That's incredibly fast given that we don't know what kind of investigation and incriminating evidence the police has to support the charge other than "West has said she picked the gunman out of a photo lineup of 24 mugshots and insists he killed her baby."
If that's all the police has, than it's a travesty of justice to put this boy and his poor family through this crisis.
Because it wouldn't be racism. It would be the fact that I want to hire somebody that's going to do a good job.
If a white kid walked in with his pants halfway down his ass and his ballcap turned sideways, I wouldn't hire him, either. I'd laugh at him, but I wouldn't hire him.
People need to step up and take responsibility for the fact that they aren't getting hired because of their own actions - not because of who they are. I had a girl come in my store once, wearing dirty, bleach-spotted sweat pants and a tee shirt covered in food stains. She was carrying a dirty, unkempt baby who had crust around his nose and who's hair hadn't been brushed in probably a week. I didn't hire her either. She was white. It's not about color. It's about appearance.
That's the thing. Sometimes it's all you have or if you're single and live alone that's all you have. I hope the police have more than the woman's identification to support the charge of murder.I would hope that the police wouldn't give too much weight to a relative giving the alibi.
What is this supposed to mean?son of a bitch.
What is this supposed to mean?
I thought you were calling me names. What do you think I mean? Do you think for one minute that a relative wouldn't lie to keep somebody from going to the chair? You can't be that naive.
I thought you were calling me names.
I live in Brunswick, GA. He goes to a local high school in town.
The family held a memorial service for the baby, and the mother didn't show. Two stories have surfaced as to why she didn't show. Firstly, she said she was afraid she was a target, and didn't want to go. Second story was that it just hurt too much to go.
Seriously? She didn't go?
Considering she gave an interview the night of the child being murdered entails she's somewhat insane. Her sanity set aside though, an innocent child was still murdered. I've heard more in town than what these people are posting links to. I'd think it's safe to say the two guys are the killers.
I doubt it. There's a lot of people in downtown brunswick during the morning for high school and work. I feel as if someone else would have already come out and said something if anyone else had done it. Idk honestly there's a lot of murders in Brunswick this one's just a baby though which is why it's in the news

The high-profile status and emotion further confirms my belief that they are acting too fast.De'Marquise Elkins, Charged With Murder Of 13-Month-Old Antonio Santiago, Is Not Guilty, Lawyer Says

Police are human, and as such are prone to believing or disbelieving what they want to believe. It is not uncommon for a detective, or even a whole department, to get it in their mind that a particular person is guilty, then go on to essentially build a case around that person to the point of ignoring more solid evidence pointing elsewhere.I would hope that the police wouldn't give too much weight to a relative giving the alibi.
How many hours did the detective "tag team" him and wear him down for a name? Then we need to know how the 14 yo was interrogated. Was any adult with him during the interrogation? More importantly, where are the physical or forensic evidence?
Target for what? The family held a memorial service for the baby, and the mother didn't show. Two stories have surfaced as to why she didn't show. Firstly, she said she was afraid she was a target, and didn't want to go. Second story was that it just hurt too much to go.

Bingo. Rumor, gossip, and hearsay can make anybody sound guilty of anything. Pretty low standard of discernment, really.I think I'd have to say, like what? Hearsay, and innuendo, Rumor, and speculation is not the benchmark of what we convict people of 1st degree murder of in this country. People talking happens when ever there is a shocking event like this in a town.Considering she gave an interview the night of the child being murdered entails she's somewhat insane. Her sanity set aside though, an innocent child was still murdered. I've heard more in town than what these people are posting links to. I'd think it's safe to say the two guys are the killers.
I'm not saying that the two young men are innocent mind you, just that I want to know more before I just blindly jump on the band wagon.
Here's the cremation part:
A private memorial service was held Friday morning for the baby, who was cremated, according to West. She said the family is working with the Catholic relief organization Society of St. Vincent de Paul to help with unforeseen expenses.
