Pete Hegseth

If he has to back out, MTG is going to go spare. She's going to spaz the hell out.

She was threatening all kinds of mayhem if any other picks got shot down after Gaetz.

I am so here for this.
Faffjng !

Does Hegseth make it to a Senate hearing or does he pull a Matt Gaetz before his laundry is hung out in the Senate?
It's looking more and more like he'll have to go the way of Matt Gaetz. It's not that the Trump cult has any shame, it's just that there are some Republican senators who still do.

More is coming out. He is toast except at FOX News
I think it's likely Faux News will cut that pile of human garbage loose. His being tapped by Trump is proving to be the worst thing that's happened to his reputation.

Yes Pete is the man for this job at this time.

His lousy record managing money should make you hesitate - for a very long time - before you claim he's "the man for this job at this time."

...Hegseth also reportedly drove the organization Vets for Freedom (VFF) into the ground financially.

In 2007, he became president of the group, which advocated for expanding the war in Iraq and was funded by several Republican billionaire donors. But under Hegseth’s leadership, the organization ran up enormous debt with money reportedly being wasted on expenses such as parties.

The finances of VFF became so bleak the group’s donors arranged for VFF to merge with another organization that would take over most of its management, essentially forcing Hegseth out in 2012....

You're in favor of mismanaging taxpayers' monies?

I sure hope so.

Hegseth is looking like putin's pick for the job of running DoD.
Done before Christmas
More dirt to come
That said, The Cult will embrace anyone Trump nominates, no matter how tainted and unqualified they are

No one in this thread has yet commented on the fact Trump deliberately picked men with a history of abusing women for his cabinet. This phenomenon has been pointed out in the news and attributed to a deliberate statement being made to women who, at one time, attempted to assert their right to accuse their abusers. (Remember the #MeToo movement?) Trump is deliberately inflaming men against women, just as he is depriving women of the right to determine whether they will have to carry a baby to term. He is playing up to men and causing little boys to wear "Your body, My choice" T-shirts in elementary school.

Pete Hegseth is an accused abuser. But so is Matt Gaetz; RFK, Jr; Trump himself; and others nominated for high level government positions by Trump. This deliberate move by Trump to push male abusers into the faces of American women should be noted whenever we discuss one of them, like Pete Hegseth. He is really a symbol for Trump to use. A symbol of debauchery. As was Matt Gaetz. Trump wants to make us accept these debauched men as our masters.

How does any of that address my point that Hegseth is not qualified to run the DoD? There is nothing in his resume to suggest that he has the skills or experience to run a large organization and in fact he failed when was given the chance to run a small organization.

Running something requires more than slogans.

Another of many poor choices. The chaos of the Trump 2.0 shitshow is fully underway - well before the orange felon takes office.

With a Trump administration, it's all about the destruction and chaos inflicted on the nation and the world.
