Penzeys sends 37,000 free 'RESIST!' spice boxes to Washington, DC, homes ahead of inauguration (1 Viewer)

Penzey's Spice House owner has donated over $Millions to liberal causes and candidates. I drive to shop at their Green Bay store because I support their values. Awesome company. They have online for liberal foodies nationwide.

The company got national attention last summer, including from Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Now, Penzeys is marking Trump's second inauguration Jan. 20 by sending free spice boxes to Washington, D.C., homes.

Penzeys has a long history of political activism

Penzeys has openly criticized Trump since his first election victory in 2016. The company's website includes an "About Republicans" page, which outlines its anti-Republican stances and intentions to include political activism in its business. Penzeys has an online store and locations in over 20 states, including numerous stores in Wisconsin

In 2018 and 2019, Penzeys was one of the biggest spenders on Facebook ads in favor of impeaching Trump. According to Journal Sentinel reporting from the time, the company spent more than $2.3 million on "ads about social issues, elections or politics" between May 2018 and October 2019. The spice company made national news in 2019 for outspending anyone but Trump on impeachment-related ads. Ahead of last summer's Republican National Convention, the company paid for a highway billboard urging voters to "Remember January 6th."

I get my spices here.

Bud light only had a little over 10% the beer market share, and dropped about 3%. That is very significant. Anheuser-Busch however has several beers and other items like energy drinks.

Here is where I boycott companies. Any brewery that sells out to the majors loses my business. I haven’t bought Goose Island or Elysian for years. My wife had a reunion at one of those multiple tap self serve bars where you use a card to ring up each pour. It was sold (to me) as having dozens of microbrewery beers. Everything on tap was an InBev owned label.

The larger brewers appear to be using their logistics power to choke off smaller competitors.

Don’t really care about a company’s politics, Chick Fil A, Amazon, Hobby Lobby, Starbucks, love them all.

Chicken FIL A could be flaming, blazing liberal and I wouldn't eat there. Without a doubt the world's lousiest fried chicken sandwich.

I love their chicken sandwiches. The only thing I don’t like about them is they are closed on Sundays and of course it’s the only time it dawns on me to eat there.

There is no accounting for taste! Wendy's makes the best fast food spicy chicken sandwich but last week we were in Gainesville FL and I had a Nashville Hot at a BBQ restaurant and it was to die for!!! Hot, spicy, crunchy....yummers!

I love Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich too! I must not be picky about my chicken sandwiches.

I own a small business. I am principled enough to keep politics out of it, though.

If other businesses wish to attach themselves to extremist views and foment division, that is their business, but it just seems self- indulgent and foolish to me.

Don't care. What ever resistance they put up failed. If people want to pay for overpriced spices go for it.

Trump will be president in two days!!
😉

Good for Penzeys. Their Saigon cinnamon, vanilla extract, and baking spice are favorites of mine. I love their Chicago steak seasoning but its not worth $10.00 for a few ounces.

They are not the same spices. Not at all.
Many of them are the very same. Its the same family.
There's definitely a connection between The Spice House and Penzey's. A family one. Tom and Patty Erd are the owners of The Spice House. Patty's parents were the founders of Penzey's.

There 3/4 cup bag is $13.49 and lasts a long time.

Ive been buying McCormick Montreal steak and adding my own spices (more black pepper and red pepper) to it.

Aldis steak seasoning is a decent facsimile for $2.00 a bottle.

Just completed my annual Penzeys order. I don't buy them because of their politics I buy them because the quality is top notch. This must be at least 15 years ordering from them. Heck I was even featured in their news letter years ago......that was fun

Like any where else. In the Portland area, a few may have choked out Deshutes Brewery, but it could be their pricing and supply. Their products are only made in Bend and Portland Oregon, and not a a huge scale.

When I need a quick hunger satisfaction, I pick up three of Wendy's Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe. I find them to have a nice balance of flavors. Not messy either. I can eat them while driving.

Wendy’s is by far the superior fast food joint, imho.

I think you have to be acclimated to a high sodium diet. For me, the amount of salt in Wendy’s food is way overpowering. I get the same thing at Buffalo Wild Wings. Just awful.

True. I have a very salty palate.

I like salt as well. I do not like low sodium foods that so many people try to find. I used to like potato chips, but they have too little salt these days.

I'm salty as well but I buy all low sodium and add my own fresh and to my taste.
