Pentagon to deploy 5,000 troops to Mexico border in major escalation

They can deliver bottled water to the border patrol.

The military thing is more to make Trump supporters happy than to actually do anything. It won't deter anyone. Most in the caravan will probably try to go through a legal port of entry and seek refugee status. This is an existential threat that only exists in the minds of Trump and his nationalist minions and moving the military is just a dog and pony show.

First off There is a lot more than just deliver bottle water to Border Patrol.

The military is comprised and MANY non combat administrative staff that can help expedite claims, health and well being as well as security.

Many JAG officers will be able to assist in legal matter, interviews

Many daily operation staff from food, to clothing/linen quarter masters groups.

Add in the Added surveillance and communication teams and you have a fully function NON combat NON aggressive military assets that can provide NON threatening services to make border patrol agents life easier.

Add in the "Tent" cities imagine the coordination that requires to maintain those cities, from electricity to water to food to clean linen for these "refugees/asylum" seekers, BUT the Media and many liberals want to act like the Military is a threat....portray that its ANYTHING BUT humanitarian.....

I was on a Major operating base in Iraq 200,000+ bodies operating on that base.....20,000 direct action combat troops (I was one of the 20,000 if it matters or not), the remaining 180,000 support troops that support was CRUCIAL to our operations, from intelligence and communication to FRESH water bathroom facilities/showers to hot water.... YOU know how much moral increase with a HOT MEAL and a HOT shower once a week. ... So dont act like a combat operations is going down...... unless you are ON the ground volunteering and have first hand knowledge.

Mason, President Trump has no idea how many rich people are in the caravan, if any. President Trump has no idea how many rapists, murderers, criminals and Islamist bad guys are in the caravan, if any. Mr. Trump is once again talking out of his flabby orange ass.

Once again Trump fans accept his pronouncements without question. Trump wants his base to be very afraid and so they are very afraid. Trump once again creates fake news and once again his fans do not question his words. The facts are all there ...or they aren't. Trump and his enablers know full well that Trump followers will not question, will not attempt to validate, but will accept and follow blindly.

Trump says there is an angry mob of brown criminals rushing to storm the border and so it must be true. Brown foreigners = many bad people. No question. Proof is not necessary.

Someone else says that there are good people who hope to find safety, peace and jobs and professions in the US and so it must be a lie. It must be questioned. Brown foreigners = many bad people. Proof that these people are not criminals must be provided.

You said the people in the caravan want to go to college to become doctors and other things.

Obviously they are rich and have the tens of thousands of dollars it will take to pay for that college, right?

That is your story, isn't it?

If these people don't have the money for college, how are they going to become doctors and lawyers?

Is there a reason you even brought this up on this board?

Your comment makes sense! Bravo. When it's put that way it's doesn't sound so horrible as though Trump is sending 5,000 trained killers to shoot little babies and women if they try to cross illegally. Truthfully, I think he likes connecting that image with his base so they breathe a sigh of relief. In their minds they're thinking; 'thank God, Trump is saving us from an invading army bringing death and disease'. There had only been relatively small numbers of the last caravan in April 2018 that attempted to cross illegally from Tijuana into San Diego. Generally, when asylum seekers come to the U.S. border, they go through established borders to present themselves as seekers of asylum. Trump should send an extra 100 judges to help process them more swiftly and with less stress all around. Processing can often take months or even years because of the backlog of cases to be heard by a judge.

Lucky you can fall back on namecalling when you have nothing better to say.

You get points over the others by using big words instead of the usual "racist."

It wasn't really name calling, it was just an attempt at adult dialogue.

The
It's ANTIFA. Damn son. Don't you know anything?
I know you caught a typo and that makes your day and that makes you a very sad little man. And your minions that think its funny are even more pathetic.:lamo

Ah yes! Now I understand what Hillary Clinton meant by 'basket of deplorables'. What a horrid comment to make about poorer-than-poor people escaping terror and poverty. I'm convinced that Republicans have all sold their souls to the devil.

Yes, those horrible deplorables are trying to save America from being overrun and destroyed by alien Mestizos and Amerindians.

Oh, how awful.

Maybe you should educate yourself about this region in the world instead of using the royal "we" and "us" --when you know so little and clearly don't care..

The U.S. has always been knee deep in the affairs of our southern neighbors. When has the U.S. ever demurred from toppling L.Amer. leadership our government disliked??

I've been studying banana republics for sixty years.

They get what they deserve. They're stupid and greedy and can't form a successful government.

When people like you say we should let them into the U.S. so they can make America into "Banana Republic NORTH" I just shake my head in amazement.

At some point they need to solve their own problems.......and they will.......but allowing them to bring their problems here is sheer idiocy.

They are their own worst enemy because they have a history of failure and that makes them OUR worst enemy.

No, anyone that uses a weapon such as a gun or knife as their avatar isn't joking about breaking the legs of migrants seeking asylum. Good try though. It's a shame that such a big tough guy can be brain washed and intimidated and made to be afraid of 'words'. That's all it is, propaganda.

OOOOOOOOooooooo........a Way-PON!

Oh MOMMY.......help.

Sorry.......when it comes to saving my country I say.......Build the wall.......and break their legs.

If they can't learn from that........we can do more.

///// Deport them with broken legs. ////// <------- ' Voice and Wisdom of God'

Yes.......the same God that killed thousands of Egyptian children to make a point and free the Jews from slavery.

Wake up.

In the real world real stuff happens.

We have been far too patient with criminals.

Thank you for protecting America from paper tigers, even as you participate involuntarily in the plunder of the GWOT. And thank you for backing out of your "teaser" as candidate, you said you were going to expose or explain 911. It's a good thing you didn't follow through on that one, as many of your friends might become exposed.

Protect us from unarmed peasants with no homes. We are afraid, very damn afraid. Cowards besides xenophobes we are Mr. President, as you would like, obedient to all you ask.

not afraid at all, however, people who want to live in our country will follow our laws, and they will respect our laws, as we do, and they will see being an american citizen as the privilege that it is, before they are admitted.

and if they are not willing to do that , then they will not be admitted into this country, unless they qualify properly for asylum, because that is the law. I have to follow the laws, then they have to follow the laws. If I want to change that law then I will have to vote for whoever I agree with in regards to doing so.

those are my rights as an american citizen and another of my rights is expecting that our government follow and promote our laws as they are prescribed currently.

Somewhere between the Corps and the Cabinet Room, Mattis lost his spine.

A shame he allows our military to be used for political stunts like this.

I don't know to many governments that we have toppled that were legitimately elected by its people. Perhaps you could name a few.

You will then be well aware of the origin of the term, “banana republic.”

It’s c&p from Wikipwedia:

The history of the banana republic began with the introduction of the banana fruit to the U.S. in 1870, by Lorenzo Dow Baker, captain of the schooner Telegraph, who bought bananas in Jamaica and sold them in Boston at a 1,000 percent profit.[9] The banana proved popular with Americans, as a nutritious tropical fruit that was less expensive than locally-grown fruit in the U.S., such as apples; in 1913, 25 cents (equivalent to $6.19 in 2017) bought a dozen bananas, but only two apples.[10] In 1873, to produce food for their railroad workers, the American railroad tycoons Henry Meiggs and his nephew, Minor C. Keith, established banana plantations along the railroads they built in Costa Rica; recognizing the profitability of exporting bananas, they began exporting the fruit to the Southeastern U.S.[10]

The banana planter: Minor C. Keith, American businessman.
In the mid-1870s, to manage the new industrial-agriculture business enterprise in the countries of Central America, Keith founded the Tropical Trading and Transport Company: one-half of what would later become the United Fruit Company (UFC); later Chiquita Brands International, created in 1899 by merger with the Boston Fruit Company, and owned by Andrew Preston. By the 1930s, the international political and economic tensions created by the United Fruit Company enabled the corporation to control 80–90 per cent of the banana business in the U.S.[11]

By the late 19th century, three American multinational corporations (the United Fruit Company, the Standard Fruit Company, and the Cuyamel Fruit Company) dominated the cultivation, harvesting, and exportation of bananas, and controlled the road, rail, and port infrastructure of Honduras. In the northern coastal areas near the Caribbean Sea, the Honduran government ceded to the banana companies 500 hectares per kilometre (2,000 acre/mi) of a laid railroad, despite there being neither passenger nor freight railroad service to Tegucigalpa, the capital city. Among the Honduran people, the United Fruit Company was known as El pulpo (The Octopus), because its influence pervaded Honduran society, controlled their country's transport infrastructure, and sometimes manipulated Honduran national politics with anti-labor violence.[12]

In 1924, despite the UFC monopoly, the Vaccaro Brothers established the Standard Fruit Company (later the Dole Food Company) to export Honduran bananas to the U.S. port of New Orleans. The fruit-exporting corporations kept U.S. prices low by legalistic manipulation of Latin American national land use laws to cheaply buy large tracts of prime agricultural land for corporate banana plantations in the republics of the Caribbean Basin, the Central American isthmus, and tropical South America; the American fruit companies then employed the dispossessed Latin American natives as low-wage employees.[10]

By the 1930s the United Fruit Company owned 3.5 million acres of land in Central America and the Caribbean and was the single largest landowner in Guatemala. Such holdings gave it great power over the governments of small countries. That was one of the factors confirming the suitability of the phrase Banana Republics.

Yes, those horrible deplorables are trying to save America from being overrun and destroyed by alien Mestizos and Amerindians.

Oh, how awful.

You do realize the Native Americans were here long before Europeans.....

Right?

I get white supremacy is your favorite shtick but calling them “aliens” is laughably stupid.

Borrow it from government insured programs like most med students and law students do. At least they will get in State tuition in several states . And that is after we have provided them a free high school education if they need one.

I don't know to many governments that we have toppled that were legitimately elected by its people. Perhaps you could name a few.

Guatemala 1954, Chile 1973, off the top of my head. Regarding the latter, reference was that we didn't have to tolerate a government elected due to the "irresponsibility of its own people." -- Kissinger, if I remember correctly. By that standard, the Chileans could overthrow the current US govt. :). But we also interfered in Haiti, Nicaragua, and elsewhere, tho we probably wouldn't have admitted the elections were legit in those cases. Before and during the Cold War, we generally exercised veto power over govts in our sphere of influence, much as the Soviets did in theirs. Poland, Chile, Hungary, Dominican Republic, etc., same song, different beat, as the Four Tops sang.

It's what empires do. Vercingetorix in Gaul not much different than Salvador Allende in Chile.

Im going to make a small inside comment,

I am a Trump supporter and I have the rational thought NEVER to have assumed the bold portion. SO assuming thats WHAT Trump supporters thinks is where the Democrats and Liberals LOST the election and will likely think.

They will correlate these false thoughts to All conservatives and Trump supporters, where actually were are fair and balanced like any other US Citizen, we just happened to support a NON politician like trump that is off the charts in many aspects.

Yes, those horrible deplorables are trying to save America from being overrun and destroyed by alien Mestizos and Amerindians.

Oh, how awful.

Again, get some water, put it on your burning hair and listen to some sense for a change instead of nonsense. Rinse the brainwashing out just for a minute and understand something. Your great fears of what Fox and Trump portrays as a 'disease ridden, army of terrorists and drug lords' that are going to OVERRUN us and trample us into the ground in a stampede (EEK!) is total and complete BS. Nothing could be further from the truth. They aren't coming to rape your wife or daughter, they aren't coming to take away your Ford F350 or mess with your job, or steal all your rifles and Glocks and they certainly aren't going to give your community 'smallpox' as has been reported on Fox.

They are fleeing poverty, violence and corruption. They are 1,000 miles away from your dog, wife, job, kids and hamburger on the grill. Even at this pace it will take at least a month to reach even the closest US border and when they do... when they DO....their numbers will be in the hundreds, not thousands and they will present themselves one by one at the border to ask for amnesty. And they will be processed and either go before a judge to decide whether they qualify as seeking relief from persecution and the threat of danger in their country.

Now, back to the Mestizos you mentioned. It has been an extremely racial term in Spain A 'Mestizo', it simple means 'mixed ancestry' since it is a mixed race of Amerindian (American Indian) and European Spanish. 'Mestizos' are found all over the world, not only in Central American. They live in the Philippines, in S. America, and the Yucatan in Mexico. The principal religious groups of Hondurans are Roman Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Jehovah's Witness, Mennonite, approximately 300 evangelical Protestant groups, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon).

They are not sub-human as Trump, Fox and Trump's supporters want you to believe. They are peaceful people that believe in family values just like you do and want a better life for themselves and a future for their children.

Incredible, President Trump agrees with Obama a 100% with regard to illegal immigration.

We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants into this country,” Obama said.

Part of Bill Clinton's 1995 State of the Union Address where he refers to illegal aliens entering the U.S. in large numbers. Certainly President Trump would agrees a 100% with him too.

All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.

The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers.

That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens.
In the budget I will present to you, we will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes, to better identify illegal aliens in the workplace as recommended by the commission headed by former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan.

We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.

What was the source of your study?

Real life. I followed the history of Central and South America with great interest.

What's your point? The history does not change the present. They are a danger to America. They are failed societies.

And allowing them to flood into our America simply will not happen......we know better.

Rukes? Damn son what are the rukes on American soil? Don't you know anything?

That's what you call an honest typo. Note that "k" right next to "l" on a keyboard. But you have typed "ANTFA" at least twice. Believe you did the same in 7 dead Pittsburgh bombing thread. Figured it was time someone let you know.
