Pelosi says abortion is Democrats' ticket to victory in 2024, accuses Republicans of 'disrespect for women'

Because it puts the power back at the federal level where it doesn't belong
1. Pelosi said nothing about states rights. She spoke about electing democrats.

2. Several prominent Republicans, including Lindsay Graham seem to disagree that it's a state issue.

I don't live in S. Carolina why do I care what Lindsey Graham wants?
Nice dodge....

You are up in arms when Nancy P, a congress-critter, representing California, gets on her soapbox and wants a national law legalizing abortion, because you insist it's a state's issue.

But, according to you, you could care less, when Lindsey Graham, a US Senator from S. Carolina, gets on his soapbox, and promotes a national ban on abortion because you are not from S. Carolina.

Did I get that right?

You don't live in California either, so why would you care what Nancy Pelosi wants? What the difference?

Hypocrite much?

FYI, I lean towards it being a state law but since my procreation days are behind me, and since I don't have a uterus, I don't think my say in the matter, matters much.

Life has no value to you, does it? You don't see any problem with your position that denies the rights to the unborn?
If you cared about life, you would want more gun control, if you cared more about life, you would want climate change studied, if you cared more about life, you would support every child, whose mother wasn’t allowed an abortion. A 1/10 of 1 ounce.ZEF is not a life, but you want to force women to breed against their will like animals

So what is preventing you from moving around the country? 37 or more states allow abortion, why do you care what the others do? don't move there. Your anti Religion attitude is your problem not mine. I support life you apparently don't. I understand personal responsibility, you apparently don't. I do not support Abortion unless it is due to rape or incest, you don't seem to have a valid argument for your support. This is a state issue due to the reality that it is a state expense issue as well. The citizens of the state make that determination
I wonder how you would feel if your state demanded that any unmarried man is, must have a vasectomy against his will

Nothing like a man, forcing a woman to breed against her will

Yep, you continue to focus on rhetoric, the SC was quite clear, it is a state issue not a federal issue. I do not support abortion except for incest and rape.
Why do you make an exception for incest and rape? Why is that any different from any other pregnancy? Isn’t it a life in your world? The truth is you don’t really value life because if you did, you wouldn’t want to “kill” a rapists child.

So, I goes over to the YouTubes looking for a snarky comedy video about men disrespecting women so I could reply here in my usual smart-ass manner.

In the search bar, I typed, "Women get no respect."

All that popped up were videos about women disrespecting men. And why.

Maybe I should have typed in "Andrew Dice Clay" instead?
Another poor male with victim envy

Elected R's have made their bed, of course it will be the linchpin of D's campaign strategy. Is there any issue the R's are trumpeting that has nearly the national support that pro choice provides?
Trouble with Democrats is we don’t have slogans that stick

D's messaging is lower than poor.

This issue may not need slogans. If anyone thinks it only impacts mothers they're not thinking.

My anti-religious view is my RIGHT as an American and protected by the constitution. Your need impose your religious views on others is not. You are pro fetus and could care less about anyone once they are born as evidenced by the laws of the states that have restricted access to abortion. The citizens as I have stated before are being prevented from voting on the issue because the religious loons in charge know its a losing proposition when the entire state gets to vote. Pro fetus is NOT pro life.
Yes it is, but it isn't your right to impose your values on others. Personal choice goes both ways and comes with responsibilities and consequences

But they were too stupid to know that..that was their goal.
So pro life is a real problem for you apparently as is life in general? Personal responsibility comes with consequences, except in the liberal world. Make a mistake, get pregnant and destroy a life rather than accepting responsibility. adoption is an option

This defines today's Democratic Party, one who disrespects states' rights thus rejecting the true democracy as they continue to promote massive central gov't and dependence creating policies so people never bite the hand that feeds them. Abortion is a STATE issue, States are pure democracies so you tell me how anyone supports a democracy and supports a massive central gov't taking control over the states?
You can be mad about the reality of the situation that doesn’t fit your personal ideals all you want, but the simple fact is that Pelosi is right here.

Nice dodge....
dodge? You are showing your ignorance regarding states' issues
You are up in arms when Nancy P, a congress-critter, representing California, gets on her soapbox and wants a national law legalizing abortion, because you insist it's a state's issue.
No, pointed out the problem with the left, focus on making a state issue national and you don't have any problem with that which is your problem
But, according to you, you could care less, when Lindsey Graham, a US Senator from S. Carolina, gets on his soapbox, and promotes a national ban on abortion because you are not from S. Carolina.
Nope, I can change channels or turn off the volume.
Did I get that right?
No, just your partisan biased liberal position
You don't live in California either, so why would you care what Nancy Pelosi wants? What the difference?
LOL, for years now it is all about rhetoric never about policies and results. when someone disagrees with you that then becomes a problem for you
Hypocrite much?
Nope, states' rights are what Trump promoted and that destroys liberalism
FYI, I lean towards it being a state law but since my procreation days are behind me, and since I don't have a uterus, I don't think my say in the matter, matters much.
Ok, then the issue is closed. keep this a state issue

Because neither are personal choice issues. In life there are personal choices, rape and incest are crimes.

Yes it is, but it isn't your right to impose your values on others. Personal choice goes both ways and comes with responsibilities and consequences
But it's your right to impose YOUR views upon others?

Got it.

I stood responsible for all my offspring. The idea of abortion never entered our minds. I am saddened about all the unborn lives lost and the poor situations women must be suffering that would lead them to abortion in the first place. I am sorry for all the love they missed out on raising these babies. I would be lost without my children. I could not bear that. Though I am not one to start a blog or picket an abortion clinic, I think I have lived my life in a pro-life way. But that's just me. I do not share with you some assumption that it is your right, or mine, to impose our values on others.

That's TWICE today you have been caught being blaringly partisan and hypoctitical. I tell you this because you need to think about what you write, a little longer, before you hit the submit button.

Of course Pence also disrespects states rights - he wants a nationwide 15 week limit. And he's not the only republican that wants a federal ban on abortion.
Yep, and remember when the GOP was saying they just wanted abortion to be a states issue? Clearly not. Now whether or not abortion is going to be as much of a driver as other issues remains to be seen, though if the GOP starts ramping up the move to establish Federal laws restricting abortion, it will definitely motivate people. The recent law that passed in NY that allows doctors to send pills across state lines and prevents legal repercussions from states where it's outlawed demonstrates not having a standard in place threatens cooperation between the states.

You're wrong, it's both.

You think women are going to disregard those policies and who is pushing them based on whether they are voting at the state or national level?

Aren't they at least as apt to just blame the party that has been actively disrupting their ability to make their own choices, at all levels of government?
We know from pre-Roe v. Wade that women were getting abortions, so the only thing banning them does is set women off to have unsafe procedures. The same conservatives who are whinging about single moms dependent on the government for care, are the same ones preventing women from making the choice to not be in that situation. Then the same "it's about the life of the unborn" falls away when the baby is born and needs public assistance.

Republicans caught the car. Now they have to figure out what to do with it and whether it was a good idea to chase it.

Spot on. For me this has never been about my views on abortion, but the choice of women to have a choice as to when they want to carry a life (or not). I don't see it as my right to limit that choice, and the way I view all laws protecting people's choices to help themselves is based on the idea that just like they have the choice to their decisions, I have the right to mine in not using that treatment.

It's obvious because when you enter 'get no respect', there's only one thing that comes up...

I'm not forcing anything on anybody. You can choose to not have an abortion or have any interaction with those that do. Its you and yours that are trying to force the rest of us to live by your beliefs. Not going to happen.
