I'm on the side of the cops in this. So far as I'm concerned both this and the headlight flashing should be charged as conspiracy crimes.
Conspiracy is alluding to conspiring to wrong-doing. So... what are they doing wrong?
They are providing the same service a look-out does for a bank robbery.
I know this isn't the case, but what if it was for cop safety? Many states have move-over laws for cops and emergency vehicles. What if they want to alert people beforehand so that they can adjust their lane before things become congested due to people moving over all at once? Should that be illegal too?
TNAR, if you don't like the law, don't follow it. Just don't whine when you get punished for breaking it or people get punished for helping you break it. That or work to change it; but until it is changed it's the law and you break it at your own risk.
Then again I'd be in favor of adding regulators to all US automobiles and making tampering with them punishable by permanent loss of you license.
Totally different situation. Pretty unrealistic since we can put up five miles worth of "Right Lane Closed" signs and nobody moves over until the last hundred yards before the work zone.
Pretty rich coming from a guy who wants to renounce his citizenship over a law.
The options with a law you don't like are....
I'm choosing the third option.
So, where is that you are going? Real question, honest curiosity.

Lookouts for a bank robbery are conspiring with bank robbers... so if bank robber lookouts are conspiring to rob a bank, what/who was she conspiring(with) to do? You still haven't answered that.

What? Are you kidding? So I suppose you think that truckers using the CB for the same reasons are criminals too right?

Conspiring with the drivers going past her on the road while speeding.
YES, I do believe that as well.
You apparently believe in force. You apparently believe that the state knows better than individuals what is best for themselves. You apparently believe that man is stupid and helpless and needs to be protected and guided by government even though that very government is comprised of men.
Sorry man, I can't go along with you on that one. If you want to go that path, I say people who warn of speed traps are saving the life of the law enforcement officer that is tasked with that dangerous situation.
We are going to disagree on this. ANY act which impedes the ability of LEOs to catch criminals or assists the criminals in avoiding being caught should be a crime in my mind; punishable the same as the crime assisted.
Criminals is a little strong for someone who violates a misdemeanor statute. Also, those LEO's out there doing their jobs have a tough one for sure, but these traps are revenue grabs pure and simple.
That's exactly what they are and there should never be any fiscal incentive to do negative. If punishment is incentivized, then there will be more punishment. If you have fiscal incentive to do negative, the negative will grow. Like private prison systems' massively growing incarceration rates for instance.
That's exactly what they are -- and exactly what they need to be. Incentive to do negative? A DUI charge is incentive to do it again? What??
