Peaceful Protests during the anthem, what are they?

Kneeling/locking arms during the anthem is:

You obviously didn't think. Are you incapable of having a normal conversation? Good grief.

And I asked you a question. What would cause you to ask such a dumb question that makes no sense. I mean your MO aside what would motivate such a question?

And I asked you why you think it's a dumb question. Again, are you incapable of having a normal conversation, or does your hatred prohibit such things?

Are all these kneeling fools not protesting for the same reasons as the person who started this whole idiocy? It really is a simple question. Maybe simple is too difficult for you. If you truly think it's a dumb question, why not explain exactly why?

I rarely agree with countryboy but it's not a dump question. While Kaepernick wasn't the first to kneel during the anthem he is clearly labeled as the current face on it. Since then the whole thing has been hi-jacked. The latest being the teams protesting trump's comments last week.

Then you should be able to explain the logic behind his question then and why it's not dumb. (not that you have to thats his job ;) but what am I missing)
Here's the conversation trail. Can you explain to me how the question makes any sense please.

So somehow this is actually a hot topic issues and being back I've read quite a bit about it and seems like once again people are talking past eachother. So I wanna know if people really understand the most basic principle of the discussion.

Kneeling/locking arms during the anthem is:

in FACT disrespectful to the flag, country and or troops
in FACT NOT disrespectful to the flag, country and or troops
in FACT just a peaceful protest and any opinion on it is just that, OPINION.
If course it is intended to be disrespectful. But admitting it would be a reason for a company to let a player go if it wants. The players are doing the company harm in parts of the clientele. So nobody may admit it.

A politician can point this out. But it is the expression of a political opinion and opinions that do the country damage are protected from state penelty.

Please prove that what you are saying is a fact.

So, you don't believe the people protesting now are doing it in solidarity, and for the same reasons as Krapernick?

Where is the logic behind the question because I don't see it anywhere

Clearly people aren't in solidarity on this. People have jumped on this for all kinds of reasons. Some are for the exact reasons Kaepernick are, some are protesting Trump, I've even seen some use this to protest our military actions overseas. I believe this is what countryboy was getting at in his round a bout sorta way.

Thats being nice, he didn't mention any of that though and the conversation he butted ito wasn't about that in anyway. I'd say that's a HUGE assumption on your part being nice. The conversation was about a person saying its factual disrespectful, I asked for proof, then he asked his question?

I see no logic to connect that to not all the people protesting are doing it for the same reason (even though the majority are in soladarity) even if they weren't none of the NFL members that I know of have said they are doing it to disrespect the troops and the flag. So again it simply doesn't add up. Not trying to give you a hard time just saying it makes no sense to me and I still think its a VERY stupid question. Maybe he'll man up and explain it.

Well then you two get back to each other asking each other to answer the question over and over and over and over..............................

Ha! That's probably what will happen because he won't man up and answer.

I though the fact that the because NFL halftime events often themselves disrespect the flag you might be upset.

There isn't anything in the flag code that says a person must stand when the colors are displayed. There is code saying that the US flag must never be displayed horizontally or used a decoration. Last night during the game in Kansas City the flag was trotted out at halftime not only horizontally but also in the shape of the lower 48 states! Both per the US flag code show disrespect.

If an outline of the US is colored in red, white and blue, is it actually the US flag? Even so, I didn't care for it either, Risky. Struck me as pandering.

Well it's been basically a week since I posted this poll and the GLARING problem with this issue is very evident.

Over 50% of the people think their feelings are facts?! That is so crazy and insane. It highlights exactly what is wrong with politics today and the blind ignorance a person is capable of. It shows how people can so easily abandon logic and truth and just jump right into the pond of denial and ignorance.

Why do you assume that different opinions from yours are wrong? That you and others have to engage in so much spin should tell you something. Sometimes things are exactly as they appear to be.

Where in this thread did I do that? Why do you make up lies all the time? Can you show where I did that, show me "assuming" a different "opinion" is wrong simply because it differs from mine.

I agree your posts seem to appear hackish, trollish and dishonest. With the frequence they appear that way maybe I should stop ASSUMING they are not and just accept that's what they are.

Can I ask why the anthem is played at a local sports event at all?

Right here.

Why the personal attack? I have long accepted exactly what you are and I'm delighted we don't agree on anything.

Right here.
There's nothign that that shows what you claim. I asked you where did I assume opinions are wrong simply because they are different than mine. Seems you are struggling to support your lie. Can you do it or not, if so please do.

What personal attack? I said your post appears to be trollish and hackish, it is definitely dishonest but I give them the benefit of the doubt but maybe I should stop. If you think that's a personal attack stop making those types of posts and stop lying.

I don't know if that's true (that we don't agree on anything) but I am certainly delighted that my posts will never be mistaken for yours. I'm glad my post will never be proved to be a lie or totally ignorant. :) Now back to your post, please show an example of me doing what you claim.

You have nothing that would show that their views are any less valid than yours.

Why are they trollish/hackish? Because you disagree with them? Believe me, I want nothing from you.

Same here.

I'm glad my post will never be proved to be a lie

Hahahahahahaha, right.

or totally ignorant. :) Now back to your post, please show an example of me doing what you claim.

Already did.

Can I ask why the anthem is played at a local sports event at all?

It's our tradition. Just because it isn't yours doesn't make ours wrong or bad. Why should we abandon it just because you don't like it?

Please share with us, what are my views :)

Nop because they often make stuff up and or lie, just like now and thats a fact.

Hahahahahahaha, right.

I know that's right, just like now ;)

Already did.
Hahahahaha so you can't that's what I thought, now after schooling you there will be no conversation until you can support the lie you just got busted making kid. Now please show an example of me doing what you claim. Man up and stop dodging.

Hahahahaha. Another perfect example, where did he say its wrong or bad, suggest it need abandoned or that he doesn't like it? Looks like you are making more stuff up. :D

I quoted you saying all sorts of unflattering things about those that voted a certain way in the poll. That you can't own it now is not my problem. Please do prove how their views are objectively wrong.

I asked a question, you went all defensive. Maybe you know there's no good reason. Public execution was a tradition.

As with most issues, to me there seems to be a sincere lack of empathy by the loudest voices on this issue. On the one hand, no one can seem to fathom how someone could find those actions disrespectful, while on the other, no one is asking why some players have felt the need to protest. Instead, folks choose to be dismissive, which is a shame.

I spent several years of my life in the Army, and I don’t regret a second of it. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. That said, the national anthem and the flag don’t have the iconographic impact on me that they seem to for others. I’m not offended when people choose not to participate in those ceremonial things, and I don’t think that by choosing not to participate that they can’t maintain respect and reverence for the sacrifices of servicemen, though I can empathize with those that do feel that way. I also think that the protests have largely been a failure since they haven’t sparked the necessary conversations, and maybe they should take a different approach.
