Our daughter discussed that with us yesterday having heard the claim and having seen the movie, which she really liked. She said she can see how someone could make such a claim, but only if they were really trying hard to do so.

Basically the claim is based upon if you show what seems to be same gender in a couple, then that is declared promoting homosexuality. And, I guess, if the cartoon characters are animals - like most are - then claim it also is promoting bestiality. For example, Ms Piggy and Hermit the Frog promotes bestiality because they are different species - that sort of claim.
Anyway, in her view if a person likes cartoon movies they'll like it and if they don't like cartoon movies they won't. She said it is one of the better cartoon movies.
 
Damn that pastor! He has revealed our diabolical plan. Now we must once again focus on creating a new way to turn the little children into little abominations. Why, oh why, must they see through our wicked plots for world domination!

Isn't homosexuality in TV and movies pretty common now? My kids don't have any problem with it (8 and 10) and never have...

...but they better not grow up to be gay. I tell them that every now and then...

Fox News Business did a whole thing on how the Lego Movie is teaching kids to be socialists.

You know you can find a boogieman pretty much anywhere if you really try.

That is why we have science! Invitro, surrogacy and, for those who can stomach it, "traditional" conception. Heck. My mamma's first husband turned out to be about as queer as a 3 dollar bill and they managed to conceive! It can be done! The species shall continue on!

Oh, I'm sure we'll keep a few Het's in a pen somewhere kinda like cattle. Good breeding stock. And we wouldn't want those future generations of FABULOUS people forgeting history! Plus, we can always use them for entertainment value. You know, Hunger Games style.

It's very telling that some of these super religious types think that one must be continually admonished not to be gay or else temptation will surely win out. That sounds a lot like personal denial. It's a cliche yeah, but this seems like where that cliche comes from. I wonder what else these men are on the cusp of doing without constant reminders.
