So you think the way to "save the country" is to have senators compromise on things thay may violate thier core principles?
No, I think the way to save the country is to open up to more ideas and possibilities. Change from just liking what your party agrees with to what you agree with, regardless of having to stick with what you're told to do. For example, I'm a Democrat, but I'm for a big Army, and gun rights...stuff like that.

I don't think many people are for everything a party promotes. I am a democrat because they most closely match my beliefs, but I do find the occasional thing to bitch about them doing.

Oh, and cutting anything that wastes time, like the lobbyist system, and retarded old people sometimes refered to as "Senators."
I was wondering if everyone out ther hates the Partisan crap as much as me. As much as we all do engage in partisanship ( unavoidable) our Senators are completely embroiled in it, and get nothing done due to it. How about we all just make friends, and stop fighting, and save the damn country before it's too late? And fill in the asterisks with whatever you want.
I like it when nothing gets done.
Especially now, when we have a Messiah in office.
I mean in general, including when your party has majority, and the oval office. I bet you get pissed at the Dem's for trying to block Repub. bills, eh?
He is an independent though.
Honest.
Who is an independent?
Scarecrow.
Well, anyhow, I bet when bills are blocked by partisanship, he must be getting annoyed, right?
Sometimes. If it's a bill I want passed, damn skippy I get pissed.I mean in general, including when your party has majority, and the oval office. I bet you get pissed at the Dem's for trying to block Repub. bills, eh?
There is a difference between being passionate about issues and being partisan. In the former you feel intensely about an issue because of your own morals/values/beliefs/past/etc... In the latter you feel intensely about an issue because it is the position your party has. Personal thinking vs. groupthink.
My feelings about partisanship are pretty well known around the forum. There are few if any who attack it as strongly as I.

The Good Reverend also occasionally finds something about the democrats to bitch about.
