BREAKING: Attorney General Pam Bondi gives a SHOCKING answer under oath when asked about the $50,000 bribe that Border Czar Tom Homan was caught taking from undercover FBI agents.
This one left onlookers speechless…
"What became of the $50,000 in cash that the FBI paid to Mr. Homan in a paper bag, evidently?" Senator Sheldon Whitehouse asked Bondi during a Senate Judiciary Committee heating.
"Senator, as Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche recently stated, the investigation of Mr. Homan was subjected to a full review by the FBI, agents, and DOJ prosecutors," Bondi claimed. "They found no credible evidence of any wrongdoing."
“And that was not my question. My question was, what became of the $50,000 in cash that the FBI delivered, evidently in a paper bag, to Mr. Homan?" pressed Whitehouse.
"Senator, I'd look at your facts," Bondi said.
"Are you saying that they did not deliver $50,000 in cash to Mr. Homan?" Whitehouse asked.
"Senator, as recently stated, the investigation of Mr. Homan was subjected to a full review by the FBI agents, by Department of Justice prosecutors," said Bondi, avoiding the question.
"That's a different question. What became of the $50,000? Did the FBI get it back?" said Whitehouse. "Can't you answer this question?"
According to reporting from MSNBC, the FBI recorded Homan in Texas accepting $50,000 in cash after he indicated that he could help the agents, who he believed to be business executives, win lucrative government contracts during the second Trump administration.
Prosecutors were considering bringing four different charges against Homan, but wanted to wait until he assumed office following a Trump victory. However, the case stalled out once Trump was sworn. This administration is fine with corruption so long as it's carried out by loyal MAGA foot soldiers.
Rather than answer the question — and risk damaging Homan by telling the truth or risk perjuring herself by lying about the FBI sting — Bondi told Whitehouse to speak to FBI Director Kash Patel.
"Did Homan keep the $50,000?" Whitehouse doggedly asked.
"You know, you're very concerned about money and people taking money, and you rail against dark money," Bondi said tepidly. "Yet you work with dark money groups all the time, Senator Whitehouse."
Obviously, Whitehouse’s opposition to dark money is one thing, his acceptance of legal campaign contributions is another, and Tom Homan accepting $50,000 in a dirty bag is another altogether. Bondi’s whataboutism was as dishonest as it was pathetic.
To point out the incredibly obvious, this is the Attorney General of the United States, our highest law enforcement official. She should be deeply concerned about a blatant bribery scandal by another top official. Instead, she’s refusing to give a straight answer and covering up yet another crime. Unfortunately, this behavior is unsurprising coming from the woman overseeing the Jeffrey Epstein coverup.
Whitehouse went on to ask if Homan declared the $50,000 as income to the IRS, prompting Bondi to baselessly accuse the senator himself of “corruption.”
“Questions here are actually pretty specific," Whitehouse persisted. "So having you respond with completely irrelevant far-right internet talking points really is not very helpful here."
"What happened to the $50,000?" he aaked. "Did Homan keep it? Did the FBI get it back? If he kept it, did he put it on his tax returns? Pretty simple questions."
At this point, we can only conclude that not only did Homan take the bribe, but he was allowed to keep it. When Democrats take back power they must investigate this travesty of justice, prosecute those involved, and lock them up for a very long time.
