Here is a well known video...linked here in case you would like to view again or for the first time. It is very interesting.

It scares me that I ate it up...lived in fear...drank the kool-aid. When I created this forum, the television never changed channels.

I didn't believe that FoxNews was extreme biased and manipulating the public until I saw first hand FoxNews *ignoring* Ron Paul.

I also see this type of trend starting to form in MSNBC & CNN "shows".

Anyway, you decide.

I think you're right on the money, Vauge. Fox has always been the network with the biggest and most transparent bias, but without a doubt, all of the networks appear to be carrying the water for someone.

We've got Bill O'Rielly, Kieth Obermann, Chris Matthews and John Stewart for the commentary/entertainment pieces.

News should be news. There's a horrible disconnect with the role media plays and the role it is meant to deliver to the public.

I'm glad that you are able to see Fox news for what it is. It's a sickening feeling to know that you've been duped, but smart people say, "lesson learned" and move on (no pun intended). I wish you all the best in your new life....free from the Fox Brainwashing Machine.

Cheers,

I decided years ago. I have the CD. :)

Whilst i would agree fox news is right leaning.Im 20 minutes through and this documentary seems to be a bunch of bitter ex employees making statements that get proven by going through thousands of hours of footage.Im sure you could use the same method and make MSNBC look like a far right news channel.

There is always something about American documentaries that is just so contrived in a lazy way.Maybe its the Michael moore/Morgan spurlock effect.

You know, that's the first thing I hear from the Bush apologists. However, considering not only the ex FOX News employees, but the many who have resigned the Bush administration and told all, those who have resigned Federal agencies, the fired Republican prosecutors who Bush had hand picked that are speaking out, generals who have resigned the military, those who have quit the GAO, the ex CIA employees who are speaking out, the tempest in a teapot has become an avalanche. The cry of "sour grapes" just doesn't cut it anymore. Sooner or later, Bush is either going to have to accept a little responsibility for his actions while in office, or the Republican party, along with their enablers, such as FOX News, are going to go down in a big way. Their position that the American people are so gullible that they can still say "sour grapes" just isn't going to cut it any more. And if they are thinking about getting us back in line with fake terror alerts, that isn't going to cut it any more either. You can only lie so much before it all unravels. Sorry, but too many Americans have taken the red pill. The lies are all dead, and the rabbit hole no longer exists.

Well he does. You use the word Bush apologist like he is Hitler or something.I was talking about this documentary not Bush.I just dont really believe murdock controls peoples minds i think he makes a product that sells.

Wow. So I may sit here and stomach this sometime other than 1:45 in the morning...

Less than a minute in it has a go at private enterprise as if it is some pure great evil.

It next has someone high up from media matters, for gods sakes, telling me about "distortion".

Four and a half minutes in, a reagan tribute is "Propoganda".

I'll watch this tomorrow when I can tilt and adjust my seat and monitor so the picture looks straight, as right now its so slanted to the left my eyes are hurting trying to watch.

Yea, I forgot. FOX News has always supported everybody but Bushneviks. :rofl

And no, I never said Bush was a Hitler. He is more like a Stalin.

I looked at it for more then 4 and a half minutes. Did you see all the interviews with former FOX News employees?

Fox News is insert claim here.

Cable news channel insert channel name is insert claim here.

Freely use your personal ideology to fill in the blanks. :aliens2:

Absolutely. As such, it is the consumers responsibility to expose the liability of their product.

I do not agree with every word, but it shows a trend in Fox News and other "news" agencies. It is scary because quite a bit of it appears to be true. If you watch or watched Fox News as much as I did, you would be intimately familiar with all the sexual innuendos (doc mentions nothing about btw) and the misguided indirect questioning that gives a sense of answer during the question. I would literally sit there in my chair on my day off with my jaw touching the floor eager for more liberal slander. Fox News is not news, it is entertainment pure and simple. It should be billed as such...

Oh and the Reagan tribute, when you get through it will shock you as more than relevant - it takes quite awhile before it gets to that situation.

All media has worked to make itself appealing and entertaining. Drama, sensational stories, emotional and gripping stories are more important than the truth. News is slanted so people can find news that tells them what they want to hear. Rampant speculation and stirring up rumors in the absence of fact is common. Calmly delivered stories with accurately sourced facts and refusing to make judgments until the information is known, is certainly something of the past. Every issue involved all the people "outraged" by it, as opposed to those who point out its flaws. Fox is the worst offender, but other networks are following the same trend. Basically they all try and imitate the Daily Show, using news for entertainment, except they claim to be news media, not a show on comedy central.

Personally, I wish news was delivered in the following format. A list of cold hard facts, a list of sources for those facts, followed by commentary on the facts.

Meh. Sensationalism and sex sells. They are not doing anything other than competing for your viewing time like the rest of the media.

The weather channel....

"Marny Stanier Midkiff, 42, claims she was booted in the fall of 2003 as part of a reputed "reorganization" of the channel. Midkiff says in her suit that her boss encouraged female personalities to wear more revealing shirts. She had reported for the network for 16 years. "

Yes the weather channel has hot chicks in low cut blouses now......

Thats been tried. They have a hard time making money off that.

Ah yes, the evil Bush empire that conspires behind closed doors to take away our civil liberties eh?

So tell me something, were we MORE informed in the 1960s when the BIG three monopolized our airwaves? Did we become LESS informed when CNN came on the scene to provide 24 hours news? Are we now LESS informed having Fox News; If so, how so?

I don't expect any facts or credibility in your responses but it would be fascinating to see some FACTS from all the people with Left leaning tendencies to show how we are LESS informed today as a result of Fox news than say, in the 1960s.

I appologize in advance if I cannot drink enough cool-aid to have similar views but it is hardly the "red" pill as it is denial on your part.

Yea, I forgot. FOX News has always supported everybody but Bushneviks. :rofl

And no, I never said Bush was a Hitler. He is more like a Stalin.

Absurdity appears to be your forte' doesn't it Danarhea. That along with making wild eyed claims about how the "sky is falling."
:rofl

It supports conservatives but above all its a business.

Ahhh, and there's the rub. They have a show with a so-called no spin zone, yet spin while saying "We report, you decide". Thanx for the admission that FOX News is partisan.

NOTE: FOX News does not support Conservatives, but Neocons. There is a HUGE difference between the two, and there is no "Neo" in the word "Conservative".

.....because you say so right?

It beats CNN where the panel is usually a group of Liberals. We call that "group" think.

Again, you apparently are unable to distinguish a "talk" show from the "news." This is understandable because the sources you apparently think are more credible have blurred the lines between journalism and gossip, news reporting and sensationalism.

I notice no one from the left wants to answer my questions; how is it that we are less informed today having more choice, than the 1960s where most of the news was controlled by ABC, CBS and NBC?

Sigh... Another one of those nuts who calls everybody who disagrees with him left wingers. Just more tired old crap from another tired old troll. Once more for the record...

Who did I vote for in 2000? Pat Buchanan. Strike one.

Who have I constantly heaped praise upon for his choice of judges? Bush. Strike two.

What do I think about the Second Amendment? I am completely for the right to own and carry guns. Strike three.

What do I think about fiscal policy? About as Conservative as you can get. Strike four.

What do I think about the Federal government? I think it should be MUCH smaller. Strike five.

What do I think about the UN? We should get out of the UN and get the UN out of New York. Strike six.

Which primary did I vote in this year? The Republican primary. Strike seven.

Who did I vote for in 2004? Not Kerry, nor did I vote for ANY Democrat, Green or other Liberal. I split my vote between Libertarians and Republicans. Strike eight.

Who is my favorite state Senator? Texas Republican Senator Kyle Janek. Too bad he is retiring this year. I am going to miss him. Strike nine.

Oops, look what happened to you. You got three outs in just one single at bat. That is a first. I hope you are not planning to make a career out of politics. You would end up homeless, and it is easy to see why. You bring absolutely nothing to debate with, other than silly name calling.

What do I do with name callers and other trolls? I put them on my ignore list. Adios to you until you learn something my 11 year old niece already knows how to do. Discuss something with at least something that amounts to a passing resemblance of intelligence. Now let me sign this before I sign off from this thread -

Sigh, another one of those nuts who cannot read and comprehend. Where did I suggest that you were a leftist? Care to point it out.

I see you are better at insults and condescension than you are at coherent debate.

You may want to read your post regarding the name calling Mr. Hypocrite. Once more, and much like a leftist, you resort to name calling when your less than factual arguments cannot be supported with facts.

By the way, for someone who claims to be a Conservative, you sure as hell don't type like one. You sound more like one of them raving lunatics on the left who claim Fox is biased and our freedoms are being infringed upon and Bush is evil. I can see why you took offense at my remarks that were not directed at you; perhaps you felt the shoe fits, so you decided to wear it?

I hope you do not intend to make a career out of debating. You would end up embarrassed and it is easy to see why. You can't comprehend what you read; you make wild eyed assumptions; you rant without facts and when challenged you whine like a little baby.

That's four strikes for you dude, you're outta here.
:rofl

Perhaps a more appropriate screen name for you based on the rhetoric above would be diarrhea in lieu of Danarhea; because watching you run at the mouth and lecture someone with your juvenile insults while avoiding substance reminds me of someone who has the runs.

I am happy you choose to ignore and run away, you add no substance to the debate anyway.

Carry on!

When you are a Conservative you have 2 outlets to get your news on......Talk radio and FOX.........All of the other network outlets are slanted left, MSNBC being the worse.......

The is no question FOX is slanted right but there must be a lot of people out there and I call them the silent majority who are slanted right because they knock the socks off all the cable news networks in the polls.......

OUTFOXED : Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism

Why Outfoxed is BS:

1) It is based almost entirely on the actions of OPINION journalists like O'Reilly and Hannity, who, by definition, are not supposed to be neutral unlike OBJECTIVE journalists. The distinction between these two types of media is something liberals have not been able to grasp since conservatives first started complaining about media bias.

2) Every piece of "evidence" relies solely on the word of disgruntled former employees.

3) It is also based largely on the fact that a conservative owns the station. But oddly, liberals will never admit that, by this logic, CNN must also have had a liberal bias for all these years simply because Ted Turner owned it.

4) The few remotely specific "examples" it offers, like anchors saying, "some people think..." to introduce their own perspective have been done for decades by all sorts of former Democrat activists who now "objectively" disseminate the news. Ones who are particularly prone to asking these loaded questions are Tim Russert, George Stephanopolous, Bill Moyers, and Chris Matthews-all of whom use to work for Democrats in office (and there are many, many, many, many more). We don't allow this kind of conflict of interest in our justice system or anywhere else except in our media.

If you haven't seen it, you should. It is an unparalleled look at how to make crappy ineffectual propaganda.

These people do not know how to recognize ACTUAL media bias, and wouldn't know it if it bit them in the ***.

Thank you for your honest answer. Yes, FOX does put a spin on the news, and so do outlets who cater to Liberals. The various networks are going for those various markets, of course. However, instead of right hand spin or left hand spin, I would just like to hear the unvarnished truth, and make my own decision. I am an adult. I don't need any talking head to do my thinking for me.

How do you explain FOX always winning the ratings war since there are a lot more liberals then there are conservatives?
