You can clearly see in the third rank of officers one of them has a grenade launcher, the type used for tear gas cans and yet one poster is claiming that the police haven’t used any and the unarmed protestors must be shooting them.

They aren't rioting, but what they are doing is as bad; when they shut down the crossings, it was worse. There has been serious impact economically and to the people who live and work in affected areas and it has gone on for weeks. That is not peaceful, just because they aren't burning and looting. The economic disruption of trade was serious, so is the impact to lives of those in the affected areas. It is no better than a riot, just done Canadian style.

The protesters have been politely warned over and over and are still being allowed to peacefully walk away. It makes me laugh to hear all the crying about 'authoritarian' Trudeau. Yes, Daddy is taking away their phones for a month and the kids are calling him Hitler. They'll get over it and hopefully learn their lesson.

How about this, Overtall. You fail to see the answer that right in front of your eyes. We are a small nation compared to the beast we "sit on." A lot of what happens in America (good or bad) has a direct affect on us. So yeah, that is why we care. Maybe it's selfish, I don't know. For the most part, Canadians love our neighbours to the south and share many commonalities. But this whole convoy crap is a direct result of what has transpired in the US (not including a good chunk of the funding!), especially in the last 5 years. You are losing your democracy and Americans are polarized more than ever. That worries me and it should worry you.

Whenever labor decides to strike (which in essence is a protest) ultimately consumers are affected. It may be inconvenient but it's how they manage to draw attention (and possible resolution) to their cause. I've had to inconvenienly shop at other stores because workers were picketing outside the stores and I wouldn't cross the picket lines. Life sometimes isn't convenient.

IF BLM would have asked to meet with Trump I think he would have met with their leaders and listened to them air their complaints. It puzzles me why Trudeau won't give the Trucker's Convoy the time of day.
