Ottawa's core locked down as police prepare to move on protesters

Yes. And I also realize they are the easiest thing in the world to manipulate.

For example, if there are 100 people present, and 60 vehicles, you place your camera so they fill the screen, to make it look like there are many times that number.

And then you voice it over with whatever the hell you like.

LOL so IOW's you don't understand that it's people walking around from one end to the other, and their microphones are picking up everything said.

Not sure, because I haven't bothered. And I'm not going to. My mind was made up the moment they started blocking LPOEs.

There's been reports of property damage, rock throwing, assaults, and the presence of weapons/ammunition:

But they've been TOTALLY more peaceful than Black Lives Matter protests, and that's the ONLY reason conservatives and their media hail these freeberty fighters as champions of freeberty. *wink wink nudge nudge*

p.s. Send TP and snacks, freeberty fighting is a hungry and dirty business.
Are you saying that the police didn't surround them & toss teargas, flashbangs & rubber bullets.

*sigh* Enjoy your day Allan.
I'm not done yet. :D

You said this:
I don't support damage to property and/or violence. That's rioting, not peaceful protests. What part of this are you having trouble understanding?

So other than damage to property and/or violence all other lawbreaking is ok with you? Btw, the truckers have caused damage, including defacing the National War Memorial.

I'm not up on this protest, but my neighbor said it was mostly pickup trucks, is that true?
There are some pickups but it's mostly large rigs.

CNN used to do that quite a bit downtown during the Bush years.

Yep. Whether it is Biden saying to fire the brave first responders to the clapping like baby seals at a town hall meeting or Trudeau arresting truckers who bring food to us, they just love seeing the strong put down.
We have our own maple syrup & whiskey.

And every single politician does it at rallies.

For a good laugh, watch any rally on the news channel that is biased towards a candidate, and then watch CSPAN, which always takes shots from overhead.

Not that many compared to the rest of the streets this morning. The police have been tightening the perimeter all day. Look up Wellington. Completely clear - vehicles towed, garbage and other items removed.

The photos I just posted about 45 ago are on Wellington. see that bbq to the right? Behind it is the fencing they put up two days ago around the parliament.

I used to drive by CNN all the time. People would "protest" nearby in hopes of getting on tv. There was a billboard by the CNN building that Fox would always rent to badmouth them. I think CNN did the same thing to Fox.

I would. I mean, just for the humor value, and there wouldn't be any problem talking the board around.

My favorite example of what you speak is the iconic image of a crowd toppling Saddam's statue.

Here's the image we were fed:

That's ridiculous. Canada and these truckers had very high vaccination rates.
As the interim Conservative leader was discussing in the debate yesterday, is Trudeau expecting 100%? 90% (or so) isn't good enough for the control freak?
Canada does have a high vacvination rate but what makes you think these truckers do? The border vaccination mandate has little to do with increasing vaccination rates. It is meant to protect our health care system. You are probably only being shown selected clips of the debate but in fact there is almost zero criticism from the two main opposition leaders about the EA itself. They are trying to come at it from the perspective of Trudeau's leadership instead. They know the vast majority of Canadians are against the occupation.

Exactly. A real pro would have gone down to shoulder level, though.

This is just the beginning of their problems. Their rigs are going to be siezed, bank accounts frozen and insurance suspended.

They're a very small group and have little support in Canada.
Don't forget about their pets being euthanized.

It really is a great look for the Canadian gov.

It's like they are completely oblivious that the whole world watching how they are handling a group of double parked truckers engaging in a peaceful protest.

The difference is BLM had a legitimate reason to protest. These guys are just moronic attention whores. They got nothing for all their protests. Zero, Nada.

I mean look down Wellington west of the Parliament Building. It's all cleaned up since this morning. The protesters are now corralled in a relatively small area between Parliament and the War Memorial.

It's a real shame that that is a blatant lie.

We've dealt with riots before - all countries go through this. It's being handled well. The police are moving slowly and using the least force that will be effective. No batons, tear gas, water-cannons or any of that stuff.

It's like you guys are just mailing it in.

This part.

The pets don't even go to a shelter for 8 days, and then they are sent to a no-kill shelter.

Do try to be a little more honest.
All shelters in Ottawa are no-kill.

All shelters in Ottawa are no-kill.

According to Trouble, they're grabbing the pets out of the protesters' hands and sticking them with the blue needle.
