One thing I think we can all agree on re: Biden/Palin

No, you were speaking of needing proof to show he was faking. That's what your previous sentences with the "opportunist" label were setting up as the focus of your post. Why would I ask you for proof of what people specifically saw? It's not in dispute that he choked up. I asked for proof that he was faking. I can see how someone during the biggest moment of their career, talking about the most tragic moment of their life, could easily get choked up.

Defending this sleazy speculation only proves one to be a partisan hack.

Desperate times call for desperate measures though.

So we just forget the fact that the man has been an incorrigible liar and fake and plagiarist all his life for this one brief instant because...wait...why do we forget that again?

Not really, but it's the closest thing that someone could offer as "evidence" that he was faking. There is no way to prove it so it's not a fact and just looks like rabid partisanship.

IT I've made no secret since I've been on this board that I think Joe Biden is a phoney and a buffoon. My screen name and avatar is exactly about that. When I see bullsh*t, I've called it. When McCain went to Washington, and it looked like the bailout bill was going to be passed, I posted, "well it's a good thing John McCain went to Washington! :spin:" Even the outraged aps liked my sarcasm there. I haven't been around long enough to have a long list of posts, but I've had plenty of moments when I was decidedly not partisan.

Because you have no proof.

It's convenient for you to call him a liar and apply that to everything he says. I guess John McCain isn't a good man.

OMFG! You answer questions like an epileptic midget with tourette's syndrome!!! (I'm just kidding. I've never really met an epileptic midget with tourrette's syndrome) ;)
My word are you folks hostile. Cracks me up.

You know what's really amusing, though? If people used the "n" word I'm sure aps would be the first one to go ape**** over that one but you throw out the word "midget" like it's nothing. Guess you don't know any Little People, you tolerant and understanding and compassionate person you. :2wave:

True that. In another thread, someone said they were suprised Palin didn't drop a baby out of her clown car va-jay-jay, yet not a peep comes out of the oh-so-offended parents here.

Partisans?

That's fine. You are guessing that he was faking. That's not a good foundation for an argument. It's pretty low to speculate derogatory things about his emotions concerning his children, especially being connected to the death of one, his wife, and the overall tragedy of that situation. I'm not making a judgement about you overall. But I find this indefensible and Occam's razor says hyper-partisanship is the only rationalization for such behavior.

Using other poor behavior is no excuse.

Though your examples are comedic. This was serious.

Nah. Can't be.

Talk about people who cannot look beyond their Democratic colored lenses.

I watched that Biden moment and I didn't think he was being disingenuous. That's just my *opinion,* however. Don't ask me for proof of that. ;) Yet I also think if Biden's been brazen enough to "use" this accident before that he shouldn't be surprised that there's this kind of speculation and nor do I think the "speculators" are the devil incarnate.

Oh, yeah, like the Dems were so respectful of Palin and her child with Downs.

Oh, I know. I know. That's different because ______________________ .

Who the hell said I was tolerant, understanding, and compasionate? I bet it wa sa midget!

Quite frankly, I've had it up to here [Tucker holds hand about waist high] with midgets!

They need to get under it already.

P.S. I guess what you are saying is that not only are you unable to recognize the purpose of a question, you are incapable of recognizing a joke as well?

Oh well.

Because you have no proof.

It's very easy for me to apply skepticism to a convenient show of emotion during a televised debate from a man who has been a liar, a plagiarist, and a fake all his life. If you weren't so politically and partisanly blinded, you would be able to do the same.

IT, I thought he was a hack back when I was a democrat. It's not partisan. It's something I've never waffled on.

I didn't speculate about his emotions. I'm sure his emotions run deep as you never forget something like that. I've seen interviews when that emotions wells up, and it's very real, you can't help but feel it just watching it no matter what you think of the man overall. I've offered my opinion on something I perceived as a debate stunt. In my post that got everyone so riled up I preface it with what "I think." My thoughts were never offered as proof. They were my thoughts. My opinion. I think he's a jerk to exploit that. You may not agree (obviously you don't lol), but we're all entitled to our opinions especially when they'e stated as just that. Opinions.

Justifying bad behavior with other bad behavior is no excuse.

Just don't offer it as proof when someone asks for proof and you're fine.

I never said that your opinion was wrong, or that you were wrong for havbing that opiion. I was asking for proof to judge for myself because I did not formulate the same opinions given the evidence. I'm also not going around making claims as though they are fact, even though they are just opinion either.

And that's what you did when you answer my quesiton with your opinion.

Justifying bad behavior with other bad behavior is no excuse.

I don't think my behavior was "bad." If I had laughed at the man for honestly crying or laughed because he suffered a devastating tragedy, that would be scummy. I'm grossed out by what *I* perceive as Biden's attempt to score points with a fake gasping for air.

From what I've seen around this board in the short time I've been here, I've seen you to be a reasonable man. In fact, I probably would not have come back to this thread to explain a point that I thought was obvious were it not for you. Aps is a decent person, but she's all over the place emotionally (just last week she proclaimed she knew I always had a heart), so I brushed off her extreme reaction because I thought what I meant was pretty obvious. The point I'm making here in response to donttread's remark isn't necessarily applicable to you because you've called people on that stuff before, so it's preaching to the choir. But people do say much more offensive stuff that's ignored by the people freaking out here.

Honestly, you have every right to feel that way, but people are going to question if you sincerely feel that way or if you are being partisan. And that's fair enoughy, especially given the subejct matter.

I think both you and don'ttreadonme are being honest in your opinions and that people are out of line fo rdemonizing you guys for having them.

Yeah. My dad....*sniff*...passed away about 3 years ago and it hurt.

Do I get to win this debate now?

Just to show you that I have a heart, I'll let you come to my house so I can comfort you. Really. It's for debate purposes, only.

Right, it's my partisanship that keeps me from being able to read minds.

Bush is a liar. Yet I don't question his feelings about his family. It's indefensible.

"I'm not going to answer the question the way you or the moderator want me to......" :rofl

That's funny. I do to a degree with Bush. And I definitely question anything Cheney calls a feeling.

I appreciate that.

And, fwiw, for some reason I don't hate Biden. lol (I don't like him but I don't hate him.)

Even that "interview" with Barney Frank and O'Reilly (and I'm not a fan) -- I'll give Barney Frank credit for having the guts to go on that show (I wouldn't want to) and giving it right back to O'Reilly.

So I'm not completely partisan.

I don't hate Biden either. Most of the time, I love hearing him gaffe speak! :monkey
