Maybe it's 'person on person' crime, eh? Or 'lowlife on citizen' crime...
Chicago's draconian gun laws sure are keeping people safe. (/irony)

Is the guy supposed to draw down on every person who walks in his shop?
The two men approached the barber, who is missing a leg and has limited use of his left arm, as he sat in his car in the 3300 block of West Division Street on March 18, prosecutors said.
One man grabbed the barber's chain necklace as the other beat him with a 2-by-4 , prosecutors said, allowing them to make off with the chain and a medallion attached to it. The barber had scrapes and bruises to his head, authorities said.
Are you saying without a gun ban this would never have happened? Can I get one of those crystal balls you have?
Pretty silly. Effectively employment of a firearm, or any defensive method, is dependent on observation, awareness, realization of threat, and appropriate reactions. The firearm is a tool; its effectiveness is dependent on the user's ability to employ it appropriately.
This didn't occur in his shop. This is what the story says happened:
Had he been armed, he could have drawn whenever it became clear that the attackers had ill intentions. Most likely they would have withdrawn immediately on sight of the firearm, and he might not have been as injured. If I were sitting in a car, and two suspicious-looking/suspicious-acting individuals approached, one of them brandishing a 2x4, I would drive away immediately if possible; if that were not feasible, I would have surreptitiously drawn my pistol and held it out of sight, awaiting further developments. This isn't conjecture on my part, I've done it before.
My comment was also bearing on how Chicago has experienced an enormous murder rate this year, so much so that some were calling for the National Guard to be deployed.
Yeah, it's possible. A gun is no guarantee though.
Most of the time you don't even have to pull. About 6, maybe 7 months ago I had an incident where this little "thug life" wanna be skinny pos was staring me down in a convenience store parking lot, I was looking for something so it took a couple of minutes but every time I looked up the guy was still looking at me.Pretty silly.
