I would have thought the numbers would be higher since he's leaving office soon, and people tend to be soften their stance.

Having said that, I doubt any other President--Democrat or Republican-- would have made a different decision.

And THREE elections? Wishful thinking on your part, I'm sure, especially considering the fact that more than 2 terms has been unconstitutional since Roosevelt.

Something, recently, has vaguely endeared me to old W. Not as a president, but as a...poetically tragic figure, I guess. There's something almost Shakespearean about him and his story. It's difficult to place, but the beautiful absurdity of his perpetually shrinking approval rating just makes it all the more compelling. I want to know what is in his head, now and then. I'm curious about what he's going to do post presidency.

This appears to be a poll of New York State only. Presumably, Bush's approval rating is at least slightly higher in the red states.

The 2004 election Bush had a margin on 2.4%
The 2008 election Obama had a margin of 7.2%

Who kicked ***?

Your first election your candidate received fewer votes then the other guy.
The second had one of the smallest margins in presidential election history.

Midterm elections unheard of like 1902, 1934 and 1998?

A litttle lesson for you my left wng friend now pay attention there will be a quiz..............:rofl.........We elect presidents by electoral college in this country not by popuar vote........If you want popular vote move to Iran or Cuba............

You know I have never been polled on a presidents approval not have any of my friends who are overwhemingly conservative........Most of the polls with a few exceptions are done by the whacked out leftwing media so that might explain te poll..............Imagine that...........:roll:

I have difficulty swallowing the omnipresence of liberal conspiracy in all media. There have been numerous polls from numerous sources, and they report similar numbers. Is 18% exaggerated, or misrepresented? Perhaps, I don't know. But, his numbers are woefully low and have been for years.

Regardless, what I said before stands. His failure is utterly compelling. It's Romantic, in a manner of speaking. His is an incredible, dramatic, devastating tale. I'm sad to see him go, in a way.

Of course, he will still be around. I hope.
