Obama to win...by a landslide???

That's what uneducated conservatives don't get. Americans don't care what taxes they are paying. It all adds to their burden. All they care about is their effective tax rate. And FICA funds everything now. Who are you trying to fool?

This has to be an act, please tell us it is an act on your part? No one can be so foolish to believe that Payroll taxes which fund SS/Medicare being cut is a good thing for future retirement? Apparently you don't pay into SS therefore it isn't an issue that the funding for the program is being cut?

No there isn't. But that's what the dems wanted. And a dumb straw man. Just because they want a surcharge on millionaire's doesn't mean the dems think they are evil. Most millionaires don't mind seeing their taxes raised.

How would you know what most millionaires want? Are you an expert on what millionaires do with their money? too bad you aren't as concerned about how taxpayer money is being spent vs. how much goes to the govt. That so called surcharge on millionaires is PROJECTED to generate 700 billion dollars over 10 years or 70 billion a year. So instead of a 1.4 trillion deficit "your" President is generating, if that money is generated and IF it is applied tot he deficit it will ONLY be 1.33 trillion. Don't you feel better now?

First of all i dont know where you're getting your projections from but the surcharge would be enough to pay for the payroll tax cut. Secondly, polls taken show millionaires don't mind seeing their taxes raised. 68 of millionaires support it.

Thirdly, its interesting you are only concerned about the cost of a tax cut only tax cut only when its for the middle class. But when its for the wealthy you don't care.

If the millionaires support the tax increase why aren't they sending in donations to the govt. instead of waiting to have it mandated. Amazing how you still hold out a belief that tax cuts are an expense to the govt. Wonder if you will feel that way when you have a family and obligations? keep looking for that govt. to take care of you.

I believe that its an expense to the govt? You are the one that opposes the payroll tax on that ground.

SS and Medicare is an expense thus the payroll tax cut is an expense. You don't seem to understand the long term obligations and how taxpayer money was used to fund items other than the SS trust fund.

personalliberty.com? okay probably a rightwing rag. And i bet you think the president was born in kenya to right? Conspiracy theories are for the weak minded.

hey, lookit that! an ad-hominem attack in place of actual logic or reason! :)

They don't want it extended at all. That's why they keep trying to add poison pills like the keystone pipeline. The GOP is against middle class tax cuts.

how is a provision that would lower the middle class energy bills and create tens of thousands of middle class jobs tied to a bill that extends the middle class "tax cut" six times longer than the Democrat version indicative that the GOP is against middle class tax cuts?

I think CPWill brings up a good point. What was the problem with the pipeline project anyway?

The State department completed this study last year. Before we waste another whole bunch of money studying it more maybe BHO will just disapprove the thing. Canada has already said they will sell the oil to Asian markets. This will be terribly unpopular with the majority of the US but whatever. BHO will lose some union support but whatever. BHO WILL gain some 'greenie' support but whatever.

I think that we should charge more for oil products in premadonna states that do not allow drilling or pipelines or are resistant to developing energy solutions. I get the part about protecting water. All the oil in the world won't help us if we have no water to drink. But it is not fair to put all the yuck in Texas and Louisiana or Okalahoma. Kinda like nuclear waste. We all want nuclear power but nobody wants the waste.

I think you must be referring to another study, because that's not what I've been reading. Nebraska and the state dept just agreed in November of this year the study was needed to reroute around the Nebraska Sandhills.

Nov. 15, 2011
"....The announcement came during a special session of the Nebraska Legislature and won immediate support from many lawmakers....Under the agreement with TransCanada, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality will join federal officials in preparing a supplemental environmental impact statement to study an alternative route around the Sandhills."

completed and done. long since. and then redone and completed. long since. Then Nebraska's governor wanted to alter the route, and so that is now done and studied and ready.

the notion that a good supply of energy and employment for our middle class is a "poison pill" for this President because it happens to involve no government expenditure or controlling of funds whatsoever is indeed telling.

The study they just agreed to do last month is completed? How is that possible?

checked back on this - study is in progress, the Nebraskan governor requested the same sped up timetable that Congressional Republicans did (make a decision in a couple of months).

It wouldnt create many jobs at all and the jobs it would create would be gone pretty quickly. If the GOP was for middle class tax cuts they would pass it with out adding poison pills.

Payroll tax cuts wont lead to cuts in SS and medicare. Who ya crappin? It all gets put in the same budget anyways.

What do Payroll Taxes fund and why are they put into the same budget anyway? Is that what the people were told when they were forced to contribute to SS, that their money would be used to fund other programs other than SS?

There are going to have to be some major issues on the GOP side for Obama to win by a landslide.

Obama will lose TX by 3 million votes and as the actual results show his record doesn't warrant re-election so his supporters will divert from that record. Doubt he is going to get any of the 24 million unemployed/under employed Americans vote.

Gingrich Slams Two-Month Payroll-Tax Deal

More ways to share...

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich called the two-month payroll-cut extension a complete failure in leadership by both President Barack Obama and Congress.

"We need a long-term plan for jobs and economic growth, not short two-month Band-Aids. We must move now to (1) cut taxes, (2) reduce regulations, (3) fully utilize America's energy resources (4) and take steps to stabilize the value of the dollar," Gingrich said in a statement released Friday afternoon. Congress passed and Obama signed the legislation earlier Friday that would extend for two months the tax cut extension to 160 million workers Friday.
Until recently, the Democrats insisted that the FICA contributions were NOT taxes... go figure.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

on the contrary, Obama will win well due to Trump or some other nutcase running as a third-party Conservative candidate, splitting the GOP vote.

thanks Republicans, we couldn't have done it without ya. :)
