The economy is far more complicated than one man, even if that man is president. Corporate greed played a big part in every Wall Street debacle that has ever occurred.
Federal spending on the war effort and public works is what got us out of the Great Depression.

By starting with “Vowing to find new ways to stimulate the sputtering economy,” I got my hopes up there for almost a second that this idiot was going to finaaly look History and realze that the whole idea of trying to Tax and spend our way out of recession has never come close to working and the opposeite is the answer.
We need tax cuts and reduced spending to increase the tax rolls I would send this Amateur In Chief a personal message to include a history lesson but I’m already on his enemies list because I’m smarter than he is, as are most of those who post he against this Socialist/Marxist wacko.

50 billion really isn't an enormous amount compared to what we have spent on other things.
:roll: Look. Firstly I dont think all the stimulus money has been spent. Possibly allocated, but not spent from what I know. Second. Most economists would tell you the stimulus was too small, so Im not opposed to this plan. Third, without a stimulus wed definitely be worse off. In my simple understanding of economic increasing govt spending during a recession maintains output, preventing a worse outcome. Seriously you ARE blaming Obama in his 2 years for not being able to completely put of a disaster from the previous administration that he's inherited.

How about if the government stop spending that money on wasteful projects and start spending it on what it was meant for, instead of pretending new uncovered spending is necessary to suddenly recover from the goverment's neglect?
Since repairs to existing roads will have completely zero effect on the commerce along those roads, the nation will gain nothing from this expenditure. Therefore, this spending should be balanced by spending cuts in other areas the government also has no business funding.

Obama didn't even make honors at Columbia meaning if he were white his chances of getting into Harvarrd law were less than 5% and he sure didn't have any other outstanding achievements when he applied. He did graduate MCL from HLS though. whether the grading was "blind" is a major question though. Then again Mitt Romney was 1st in his college class (he was top of his class at Stanford as well, but married during his mission and then transferred to BYU) and was top of his class at the Harvard B school as well as graduating from Honors from HLS.
If academic achievement was the issue in 2008, Romney had no peers.
