Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse the president on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues,

The new president is also expected to lift a so-called global gag rule barring international family planning groups that receive U.S. aid from counseling women about the availability of abortion,

I agree that the restrictions placed on California's ability to enforce environmental regulations needs to be scrapped instantly.

However, there is merit to many of the things listed in the OP and should be the subject of more consultation before being scrapped wholesale.

As that is legislation, it would take much more than an executive order to repeal.

Bush was trashed for years about Kyoto. Never mind that not a single US senator would agree to it.

It took 6 years but the rest of the world realized Bush was right - it would never work unless China and India had to help, too.

I disagree. Bush's power grab is one of the main reasons that the GOP are in such turmoil. Obama, unlike Bush has the best interests of the nation at the center of his presidency. Bush, on the other hand was all about trying to give himself first, the GOP second an unfair playing field advantage as the modus operandi of his administration.

McCain's motto might have been "County First" but Bush's has always been "Bush First - County Last."
