Obama memo to superdelegates

She is killing her political career by not ending this nonsense.

I think she has done fine so far.
But I think the time has now come for her to withdraw.
I also believe that so long as she backs out within the next week or 2 she will be fine and will have properly handled the situation.
It is premature to pass judgment on her for trying to win.

You may be right. West Virginia is next Tuesday and she is presumed to win that state. I think it would be better if she stopped after next Tuesday--when she has likely had a more positive primary result. But I am talking about getting out on Wednesday, May 14th. Another week beyond that is too long, IMO.

Tbh, by the time the media is finished with her after Indiana and NC, I would be surprised if she wins WV.
I don't say that to be mean to her. I would support her strongly if she won.
I just see it as the reality of the situation.
All week long the media will be interviewing people about Clinton's backing out.
All week long her exposure will be negative.

I mean after yesterday. Yes, I'll give her a week or two to withdraw. But she is making ludicrous arguments which fly in the face of former arguments. If she is so electable, then why is she losing right now? She is losing in every aspect. She can't fight for Michigan and Florida voters and then, if that isn't enough, have the superdelegates disenfrachise the other States. That would be stupid to the nth degree. I don't have a problem with her being a fighter. I have a problem with her not being able to tell that it's over. She is hoping for a disaster from Obama. It isn't going to happen. She is only taking people's money to pay back her personal loan.

I think she will win WV. I really do.

As a Floridian I will say this:

ANY MENTION AT ALL about Florida and Michigan counting or not counting is severely hurting Obama's chances in Florida to beat McCain.
If Clinton pushes this or if it continues to get a lot of media exposure, thousands of pissed off Democrats in Florida will switch sides because they feel screwed over.

The Democratic Party can not win with this no matter what the decision.
Obama's supporters would riot and go crazy if the DNC tossed out the rules when Obama was not even on the ballot.
Clinton's supports would vote for McCain if Clinton makes them feel as though Obama stole their right to vote from them.

This subject needs to be wiped under the rug, because the only winner is McCain.

You have a valid point. It's too bad that people are making this decision based on emotion instead of logic. It was the republican state representatives that moved up the primary. Now voters are going to reward them with votes because they screwed the democrats? Yes, you are right, they probably will.

You people forget who your dealing with.......Hillary believes she is destined to be president............She will say or do anything to get the nomination........She will work hard to get the votes of the people in Florida and Michigan.....It does not matter that she agreed not to do that......Both her and "Willie" will kiss the asses of all the super delegates to get their support........She is corrupt and crooked.........

She will tell them that Obama can not win the big states like she has............What is ironic is she is actually a better candidate then Obama and she is right.....

It would not surprise me one bit either if McCain runs an add in Florida in late September reminding Floridians that Obama "did not want their vote to count".
"But as President, McCain will blah blah blah, etc"

This is pretty much what I suspect as well. She is being eviscerated by the media right now, she is going to be getting almost no money to campaign with, and momentum is all with Obama. If she does win WV, it will be by a small margin most likely.

I can see her waiting out the week, and trying to go out on a positive note, though to be honest, as a Clinton supporter, I don't think there is a real point to it, and probably better for the party for her to drop this week.

I don't think so. She can be Senator from New York pretty much as long as she wants to be, but her window of oppertunity for president is pretty narrow. If she does not get it this time, her only real chance is 2012, assuming Obama loses in November, and she can hardly count on that.

Obama gained 4 superdelegates today, including one who went from a Hillary supporter to an Obama supporter.

She is not losing in every aspect. You sound like silly "chill up his leg" Chris Matthews last night. He, with the once respected Chuck Todd nodding vigorously, said Pennsylvania was the past and North Carolina was the future on race relations. :rofl North Carolina has a huge black voting population, not the U.S. This is simply counterfactual. Let's review the data.

In Pennsylvania, Clinton won whites 18-29 (52-48), 30-44 (58-42), 45-59 (63-37), 60+ (68-32). In North Carolina, whites 18-29, just 8% of the vote, went for Obama 57-41. But whites 30-44 went for Clinton (52-45), 45-59 (64-33), 60+ (69-29).

Barack Obama is almost certain to be the nominee, and Tweety is ebulliant about his guy looking like the nominee. But let's stick to the facts please. On the demographics, nothing got better for Obama. The difference between North Carolina and Pennsylvania is there are a lot more African American voters in North Carolina. She never had a chance to win it. Ever.

Obama's winning by the only metric that matters: the delegate count.

This last round of primaries made it clear, in my opinion, it is Obamas candidacy.

Time for Hillary to bow out.

So are you saying that white democratic women aren't worried about their reproductive rights anymore? Who do you think McCain will put on the Supreme Court? They will have to go for Obama. There is still the economy and the war issues as well. Are they really going to vote for four more years of Bushenomics? You see, Obama lost those demographics to Hillary, a democrat. If those people who voted for her won't vote for Obama, it's not because of issues. It will be her responsibility to heal the party after she drops out.

To be fair, more white women voted for Obama in IN than in Ohio and Penn. Maybe thats because she downed shots in the bar and that annie oakley thing hurt her with those voters.

C'mon I mean unless she wants to break rules (that she gave a signature to)or democracy, she can't win. Let it be over already.

All this being said, that little issue of the Electoral College seems to be scratching at the back of my mind. Here is to a decent spread in the Dem/Rep popular vote. If primary turnouts are any indication, the EC vote should go to Obama. End of game.
