Well, MLK was of that tradition. And you misrepresenting things aside. What's the fundamental point? Getting **** done takes time. Do you dispute that?
Talk about a stretch that goes beyond the pale, and showing massive audacity to compare the Trifecta Of Doom, Obama, Pelosi, Reid's, Socialist/Marxist agenda with freeing the slaves, and the struggle for civil rights.
What a load of BOVINE SCATOLOGY, in the first degree.
Obama has failed to learn one damn thing from his clear failures to do the right thing ever and he continues to ignore the will of the people, and lie after time and again being exposed.
He simply ignores the facts and goes on like he's way ahead it the polls rather than being able to just peak over the rim of the toilet where his poll numbers now reside, and he belongs.
I respect the office but not anyone who is into Black Liberation Theology, with it's anti-Constitution, anti-American, anti-Capitalism, and anti-white people teaching Obama sat through almost every week for 20 years.
When I read Councilman's post I noticed he called Obama's statement a stretch, and then he went on to make stretches of his own. Are you saying he's not aware that he did that? I thought it had to be intentional. Had to be.
Its not like he's descended partially from them or anything like that.
Those minorities, all racist and small minded. I bet this propaganda works on them!
No, I think he likely did it on purpose. But I wanted him to answer the question.
Now, vanceMack and SE102, does anyone who mentions slavery do so for only the reason of moving minorites? Or is it possible that that and actual equality did and does take time?
He's factually NOT...hes descended from a white mother and a polygamist Kenyan father who had lots of kids he abandoned and ignored. How his heritage relates is questionable. The fact that he is trying to use racism to stir up an otherwise unmotived electorate is pathetic.
Hmmm. What about the fact, that you are calling this racism, when he is factual correct. Look in the ****ing mirror Vance. :2razz:

Leave Boo out of this, You're just trying to triangulate. :roll:Pete you are trying your silly failed racism tactic yet AGAIN? Boo isnt so naive or stupid to believe this wasnt a ploy to use racism. Boo isnt...
It seems to me that calling what he said as using racism is racism in itself.Oh...and for the record...I'm not CALLING it racism...I am saying he is USING racism to stir up an uninspired electorate. You bet...that I am stating unequivocally. He is using a tried a true democrat tactic.
I couldn't care less what you do.Do I need to post yet again the democrats strategy of using race to get people talking about race...racism...and anything
Blame it on George W. Bush.BUT the fact that the democrats have added 24% to the national debt...that unemployment STILL is at 9.6% (and 19% actual)?

Nope...cant help but include the comparison of someone that is actually smart enough to know better vs someone that...well..Hi Pete...
You're hilarious Vance.Shouldnt you have waited at least until Media Matters posted some sort of talking points for you to echo? I mean...I know this doesnt have Glenn Beck somehow attached to it (yet)...and so its hard for you to actually comment on it...
Simple fact Obama and company are pissed off that the liberals are staying home (they have as much as said so) and are using ANY and every tactic to try to get people to the polls. Its only just begun.
Blame it on George W. Bush.
Is that an ad homonym, Vance?
You're hilarious Vance.
It's the conservatives that use vote suppression to keep low income people to stay away from the polls. They use every tactic in order to accomplish this - caging is one of them.
George W. Bush doubled the debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion, but the debt isn't the problem with the economy, only a symptom. The reason the economy went south (during Bush's admin.) was the was because of the shenanigans done on Wall Street and the huge banks. very similar to what caused the Great (Republican) Depression.Pete...I love ya...but that line is old and moldy. BHO was hired to do the job. He hasnt done anything but dug us deeper into debt and made the problems worse. All of the democrats...their problem is...they dont THINK. They didnt think "fix the economy"; instead they thought "pass every social spending bill we can pass and to hell with the cost" and trhe economy responded negatively.m
And while you remain stuck on your blame George Bush bull****...how many years now have the democrats controlled the house AND the senate and every spending bill to be signed by EITHER president?

Conservatives can't blame Obama what Bush did.
Vance, the problem with the economy has nothing to do with the debt or deficit, it has everything to with Wall Street and the Banks. Selling worthless collateralized mortgages, credit default swaps and various dubious financial instruments. This happened during the Bush administration. And I never have blamed Obama for what Bush did and you know full well of course (since we have had this discussion several times now) that Bush's lack of fiscal accountability is why I left the party in 2003. That does NOT change the fact that the democrat controlled congress has presided over the last two years of the Bush presidency (and is responsible for every dime spent) as well as the first two of the Obama presidency and that while Bush authorized a 5 trillion dollar increase over EIGHT years Obama has already authorized 4 trillion in only two.
You STILL want to play this ridiculous partisan tit for tat bull****?
(edit-side note-'conservatives' didnt excuse Bush's spending. The Tea Party was formed DURING Bush's presidency in OPPOSITION to his spending...just so we are being you know...fully open and honest...)

and m. Obama is right. it DID take a hell of a long time. Anti-slavery sentiments were strong when the nation was first being considered. there were strong anti-slavefy proponents at the 1st C.C. but... they were were rebuffed time and time again by the "just say no" greedheads of THAT time who threatened to block any progress if the right to make money on the labor of others was denied them.
money over morality THEN... money over morality NOW. same old conservative chant.
