Americans are growing more dissatisfied with President Barack Obama’s handling of the economy and say it will be hard to vote to re-elect him without seeing significant progress over the next year and a half.
By a margin of 61 percent to 37 percent, a Bloomberg National Poll conducted June 17-20 shows Americans say they believe that Obama will have had his chance to make the economy “substantially better” by the end of 2012.
Only 30 percent of respondents said they are certain to vote for the president and 36 percent said they definitely won’t. Among likely independent voters, only 23 percent said they will back his re-election, while 36 percent said they definitely will look for another candidate.

Its about the same. You have about 1/3 of this country that are hardcore democrats, 1/3 that are hardcore Republican and 1/3 that are independents......this is pretty much the way that this country has always been, give or take a few percentage points. Doesn't concern me at all.....the POTUS election is almost always determined by independents.
And what makes you confident that they will break in Obama's favor if current economic conditions continues? I'll bet that is what Carter thought also....

Well, there's the possibility of Michele Bachmann being the Republican nominee. If that happens, the independents won't be able to run to him fast enough.
Democrats call for new stimulus
WASHINGTON, June 22 (Reuters) - Democratic leaders called on Wednesday for new spending and tax cuts to boost the sluggish U.S. economy, setting up a fresh hurdle for bipartisan efforts to head off a government debt default this summer.
At the same time, a new report warned that the country could face a European-style debt crisis unless Washington cuts spending or raises taxes.

I think this is a little bit of wishful thinking on your part. Obama only has a chance this economy starts rebounding in meaningful ways, like yesterday. And not the fake talking points that his sidekicks are throwing out there either...
Not to worry...within the next 6 months he is going to appease the gay voters, will ignore the military leaders and announce troop pullbacks, will attack the wealthy and pull out several other little cheap tricks to show his base that the kid is still alright. He will win reelection. No doubt in my mind.
I wanna be appeased. When he is gonna get with the appeasing?
Well if they weren't, they would have...had the American people known how much he was lying about WMDs and yellow cake uranium.

Sweet!!! Do you think he'll also pay for my car and house and get me that sweet job I always wanted?

I'm not saying that they will...I'm saying that this isn't cause for alarm...its pretty consistent with history. The independents are going to break on two things....1.....the economy....and 2.....how extreme the GOP candidate is.
Looking at the economy and the fact the Democratts art talking another stimulus I would say most will vote for anyone except for Obama
Most Americans Say They
Yeah....try running Palin or Bachman....or Gingrich and see where that gets ya!
Then put your money where your mouth is....let's put Palin up.When half the people say it was better during the recession than now I think it does not matter Obama is a one term president just like Carter.
