Before he leaves office, President Obama is decorating a starry list of entertainers, newsmakers and civilians with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
It's no surprise that Bruce Springsteen made the cut.
On Wednesday, Obama named 21 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, which is presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
The list honors a who's-who of Hollywood, including Tom Hanks, Ellen DeGeneres, Diana Ross, Robert DeNiro, Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, Robert Redford and Cicely Tyson.
These happen to be the same people who campaigned for him and Hillary. Maybe they do deserve a gold star for helping Hillary lose.
The PMOF hasbeen given to a variety of celebs since the 1960s, and right-wingers never disappoint in their petty whining about a purely ceremonial award.
Being on of the highest honors that a civilian can get it is anything but ceremonial.
Why is he not honoring people that actually do things?

So apparently the Medal of Freedom has now become a meaningless trinket....
Robert Redford, Tom Hanks, Ellen Degeneres, Bruce Springsteen, Robert DeNiro, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Lorne Michaels, Diana Ross are just some of the celebrity luminaries whom Obama will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom for their incredible contribution to America. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest peacetime award that can be given to a recipient:
Obama awards Springsteen, Redford and DeGeneres Medal of Freedom
Tom Hanks, Ellen Degeneres, Bruce Springsteen get Presidential Medal of Freedom - UPI.com
How glittery - so many famous entertainers - much shinier and more sparkly than those unwashed masses of riffraff who voted for Trump.
It occurs to me that this VIP love-fest now sets the stage for some to eventually return their awards at some later point, in protest against some policy or incident under the Tyranny Of EvilPresidentTrump™
21 awards = 21 middle finger opportunities against EvilPresidentTrump™

Thank you for admitting it's a joke.
It's not a "joke," it just is what it is. It is what it's always been. It is what it was intended to be. This is not the goddamned Nobel Prize for Physics.
If Ellen Degeneris got it, then it's a ****ing joke.
Oh, OK.
Left off the OP's list were:
Clearly, Obama hates America. What a bunch of do-nothings!

Yeah, screw that dyke!
Danny Kaye has a PMOF.
My care meter is on zero. One would have to pay me in order for me to slightly care about this.
Yeah, screw that dyke!
Danny Kaye has a PMOF. Who cares? Are PMOF winners given lifetime pardons for crimes? Do they get to eat at Denny's for free? Do they get to do anything you can't?
Unwad your panties.
Oh wait, I get it. Obama granted it; therefore, it MUST be attacked.
How about Dr Ben Carson?
He's already got one.
