If christian nutjobs had blown up the twin towers, would you be against building a church near Ground Zero?
Good point. How about a church near the building that was blown up in Oklahoma City?
Self professed radical Christians bent on killing American's and ending our way of life, who video tape themselves and have in the past blown themselves up in the hopes of taking innocent passers buy out with them? Absolutely. If christian nutjobs had blown up the twin towers, would you be against building a church near Ground Zero?

Angry relatives of 9/11 victims last night clashed with supporters of a planned mosque near Ground Zero at a raucous community-board hearing in Manhattan.
After four hours of public debate, members of Community Board 1 finally voted 29-1 in support of the project. Nine members abstained, arguing that they wanted to table the issue and vote at a later date.
The board has no official say over whether the estimated $100 million mosque and community center gets built. But the panel's support, or lack of it, is considered important in influencing public opinion.

Completely disrespectful considering the motivation of the terrorists and disregarding the feelings of the victim's families.

I don't believe the city has a right to decide what a private owner decides to do with his or her land.
And that is one of the biggest reasons bureaucrats don't deserve a say to what happens on private land. They don't care about speed because they will always have a source of income but many private businesses and such don't have unlimited wealth.....Believe me, developing property of any kind is a nightmare.
Bureaucrats are slow, uncooperative, and you have to go through dozens of departments to get to the starting line. That being the point where you turn the first shovel of dirt. You are at their mercy. The waiting game unfortunately bankrupts some people.
I listened to some guys that developed land in the 50's years back... oh those were the days.
.
The idea that "Muslim = terrorist" seems so against everything we're supposed to stand for.

Yes I would.
Enjoying your fail?

What Church was McVeigh part of and if the rest of the church believed or believes still as he does ... no Church near Oklahoma City.
The problem with your little hypotheticals is it's a little more difficult to find Christians blowing people up. Why not ask about the killings of the abotion clinics, or their blowing up, fires, etc. I think you'd find most if not all would condemn such acts. Let me know when members of that same Church is going to be build next to an Abortion clinic.
I have no problem with a mosque being built in NYC - I just have a problem with it being put so close to ground zero. If the group who wants to build this wants to promote outreach - they should outreach to their brethren who are continuing to plan and execute bombings and terrorist activities in the name of Islam.
The mosque isn't being built at ground zero. It's a couple blocks away.
How big a "no-muslim zone" would you like to establish, OP? Six blocks? A mile? Ten miles?
I oppose the new location of the mosque — they should put it on top of the new world trade center and commemorate the memory of the many innocent Muslims who were murdered there on 9/11. Clearly many Americans don't understand the difference between Islam and the vicious ideology preached by Al Qaeda and such a mosque might help us to appreciate the distinction.
So how big a "no-muslim zone" is appropriate?
