You need to weigh benefit vs risk. For someone like me, this is intuitive and natural. For others, it's just scary.

No, although personally the only meat I really like is fish... although I admit I do still eat other kinds of meat occasionally and like to eat meat products like milk and eggs. I was semi-joking when I said "dehumanize animals", but essentially what I was saying was that in many respects killing an animal and viewing it as a "piece of concrete" is really no better than doing the same to a fellow human being - animals all have some form of sentience generally, you know.

Hey, you're talking to the old retired couple down the street with six cats we've saved and adopted. "Abbott and Costello", the wise old brothers. "Laverne and Shirley" the cute blonde twins that will run you ragged playing. "Einstein" who tries to be a bully but is really a *****cat. "Schnoz"... the queen of cute. Sadly, humans have created such an imbalance in wild areas that hunting has become necessary.
Here I am told that pigs are put into a room that fills with carbon monoxide and they are then bled while unconscious but I can’t say if this is actually true and I don’t know what is done to other animals.

I wish that I didn’t eat meat but vegetarianism left me feeling weak and sickly all the time so I returned to eating meat.

Because of the man-made reduction of predators, hunting is a necessity for many wildlife populations.

Humans do an incredibly huge number of intentionally cruel things...to fellow humans and other animals. The other animals have even less protection than the humans
