Yep. That's what the megalomaniac Putin is doing. It's all he has left after his catastrophically failed and totally unprovoked invasion and occupation. But his threats are idle. Even he doesn't want to see his mother Russia obliterated in an uncalled for nuclear exchange. He knows if he uses nukes - he gets nuked.

Fortunately, we have the elder statesman Biden at the helm, making sure that our military involvement is appropriately limited, and Ukraine's military response is measured. As a cold war veteran, Biden's 12 years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has served us all very well, and we're lucky to have him in the Oval Office.

How exactly? The fact they are an island makes them MORE defensible than Ukraine not less. China’s amphibious warfare capability is shit. It wouldn’t take much for Taiwan to degrade China’s ability to land forces sufficient to make it impossible to maintain an invasion of the island.

China can’t maintain a blockade. Besides the fact that Taiwan has lots of land based anti-ship missiles, neutral powers that China doesn’t want war with would make that blockade defunct.

The US, IIRC, supports the ICC but isn't a signatory to the Rome Statute

It’s “carrier groups” are shit. They have basically nothing for air wings and the aircraft they do have can only take off with very limited weapons loads because they don’t have catapult takeoff.

Is China going to use those submarines to attack the shipping of neutral nations, thereby committing an act of war and drawing them in?
 
Rusia and the US will not go to nuclear war as it's the end of everything if they do.

It’s almost as if powerful nations won’t sign onto “international justice systems” unless doing so advances their national interests.

But apparently acknowledging that countries pursue their national interests makes someone a neo-con militarist.

Neutral nations will still want to trade with Taiwan. Is China going to attack US or British shipping attempting to trade with Taiwan?
