He knows the concept exists. He doesn’t believe it’s real. He thinks the only reason countries have nukes is “US militarism” and without “US militarism” every country would willingly just abolish their nuclear weapons and all work together.

OH sure it doesn't exist! That is why Iran desperately wants nuclear weapons to protect itself from Saudi and Israel. Israel is a member of the nuclear club, Saudi is very possible. Nuclear weapons are the military and diplomatic equivalent of a big dog in your yard that prevents trespassers because they know that any regression is going to hurt. That's the same reason that Russia desperately wanted the bomb after WW2 because the US having it changed the balance of power and lead to the Cold War. If the US gives up our nuclear stockpile Russia's aggression will be unstoppable.

No, you don’t get it. The only reason Iran wants nuclear weapons is because of US militarism. The US is the only reason nuclear weapons exist. No countries were even trying to develop nuclear weapons before the US did, and if you point out any other countries nuclear programs, you are just a trolling US militarism lover. Besides an effective international justice system should have been created decades ago to abolish all nuclear weapons, but don’t ask how it would do that because asking how means you hate international justice, love the US international injustice system, and are just trolling because you love US militarism.

Right now its Russia, but they'll shriek mindlessly in support of going to war with China over Taiwan, or maybe war with Iran or whatever. They just arent capable of learning.

Blackmail, extortion or whatever you want to call it. Putin does not have carte blanche to do as he pleases in the world because he has nukes and neither does any other nuclear armed nation.
 
Biden is the closest we've gotten to a president that wants talks to abolish all nukes. He's said it during his debates with Trump. Meanwhile Trump wanted to up the nukes and stop talking. Stark difference there.

If it weren't for our GOP and Russia you'd probably already have a closer picture of it because Biden would be promoting those talks.

Seems nobody else is interested. They'd have to all agree at the same time. Meanwhile, Russia is invading with its threat of nukes solidly behind them, and China will be slimming it's way up to Taiwan any day now.

The timings not so good. Maybe next year.

What we have learned by history is that appeasing tyrants that invade other nations is not the way to obtain lasting peace.
