The assertion that Trump was unknown is a joke - the press gave him relentless negative coverage leading up to the 2016 election. Trump campaigned on taxing less and spending more - virtually assuring us that deficit spending was his goal. Unless the demorats yield to the temptation to go much further left to "appease the base" in 2020 then Trump will not be re-elected despite a better than usual economy (obtained by having $1T annual federal deficits?). I also don't rule out the possibility of a third party candidate (or two?) reeking havoc on the 2020 POTUS election.

I agree, but maybe people are no longer just interested, and now see that an interesting candidate can be harmful to our country. I like to read and research and during the 2016 campaign I looked into by reading multiple sources Trump and Hilary's history and policies each appeared tainted. Well Hillary did not get the Presidency and we had one of the tainted persons. The rhetoric I remember was, don't worry that Trump appears to be a loose cannon, possibly to the point of harming the U.S., because the smart people around him will keep him in line. Currently, if cabinet member's, gov't agency directors or staff do not blindly support Trump or lie for him they are either fired or forced out.

Who are "they"? Would (half of?) "they" be the one's referred to as deplorable and/or felt completely ignored by the Hillary campaign? One only need listen to the MSM constantly use opinion based adjectives and adverbs to describe persons and events in its "news" presentation to know that they are biased.

How many MSM "news" reporters have asked dear Nancy Pelosi to explain how placing a physical barrier on the border, which she has fully supported in the recent past, is "immoral"? When the MSM echoes demorat talking points, such as a "manufactured" crisis, then only a moron would not see the bias. I'm not, by any means, saying the Fox News does not also do this on a regular basis but when you hear adjectives such as '"extreme", "far right/left" or "out dated", or adverbs such as "highly" or "radically", applied to polciy positions that is simply opinion being offered as news.
