No kidding half of all U.S. farm workers are undocumented

Did our resident genius in the Whitehouse as of tomorrow even think of this when he's vowed to deport all undocumented people? Damn will we be able to by chickens and eggs even if we can afford them? How about other farm products?

73% of US farm labor are migrants. The USDA estimates that half are undocumented. Given the significance, why is this overlooked by conservative rural America?

Half of all migrants are undocumented. So that is 36.5% of all farm workers.

American democracy died today.

Very, very soon Trump will begin to implement Project 2025 as he promised, and as his know nothing MAGAs promised, he would not do.

After prayers for peace and love in the Washington DC Trump's army will be busting heads, destroying families and raining hatred on brown people in Chicago and across the nation.

This is how it begins.

It's not a big deal, we're ****ed on food prices either way.

Do you think Americans will tolerate rising prices, when they have based their vote on lowering them?

He's not worried about the price of our groceries. He never was before this last election, and he sure as hell won't be talking about it now that he's won. American Voters are dumber than discarded corn husks.
Nope. With his war on migrants and his trade wars, Trump is likely to spike grocery prices higher than Biden ever did. But all the MAGA commies will make excuses.

Rural cons only think about bad things that happen in bad cities. It's different is probably their excuse.

Most Americans are ready and willing to go pick their own produce.

its not overlooked by citizens/voters

why has Biden in 4 years not cracked down on it? what has it been allowed to legally happen?

there will always be a little pain righting wrongs ..... if you're a business that used illegal labor, you need to be fined heavy for it, and the illegal people sent back to their home countries

if I don't get cherry tomatoes and avocados for a few weeks, I'll make it. its unfortunate it was allowed to build like this - but its time to fix it

Estimates of the number of undocumented immigrants working in agriculture in the United States range from 244,700 to 320,000. These workers make up a small portion of the total undocumented workforce in the country

Agriculture is a cherished part of American identity and remains an important part of the U.S. economy. In 2020, the agriculture, fishing, and forestry industries contributed more than $175 billion to U.S. GDP and supported more than 2.3 million workers. The health of America’s farms and the agriculture industry, however, is tied directly to immigration.

  • As recently as 2019, almost half—or 48.9 percent—of all agricultural workers were foreign-born and more than one-fourth (27.3 percent) were undocumented.

there are as many as 15 million illegally here people ...........lets say 500,000 work agriculture ... that's 10 to 15 million illegally here that do not

hmmmmmmmmmmmm Democrats don't mention that? why ?

Hey no problem. The key is to burn down all the farms. What climate change? No the fire was caused by a lesbian who got her job because she is a lesbian.

All we need to do is have more fires, floods and hurricanes to destroy the rest of farming land outside California. Then all them farmers can't hide in the bush and more easily be spotted by "drones".

You head him E, all Americans will be happy when he closes the border and deports them all yanking up government spending, causing a labour crisis that will yank up the price of food even higher and hey wait for it. If that doesn't create inflation you just wait for the tariffs on foreign food coming in.

First of all, it's obvious that you are math challenged. I mean, I'm not a math whiz, but even I can see that half of 73% is not equal to half of 100%.

Is he. Lol. Your math is very interesting. Is that you Mr, Vice President? Could you please try figure it out. Sit for a second. No one but you concluded anyone said or suggested 73% is half of 50%. You assume that. You need to finish elementary school.

73% of US farm labourers are migrants. Half are documented.

73% of those farm labourers who are migrants would come out to a specific number, for example 130,000.

Stay seated. Don't get excited.

50% of that 130,000 would be come on work with me.

130,000 divided by two

is 65,000.

You still with me?

Wow.

Magas the gift that keeps giving to America making it great.

Ummmmmm.

73% of US farm labor are migrants.

half of all U.S. farm workers are undocumented

1. Not all migrants are farm workers. You assume that,

2. Of those migrants who are farmers, half of those would be undocumented farm workers not 50% of all migrants.

3. Come on you can do it.

Make America great again.

Wow. I love Maga math,.

Assuming both claims are true, and assuming 100,000 farm workers.

73,000 are migrants.

50,000 are undocumented.

The hell are y'all arguing about? Your math doesn't look great either.

I don't think Trump has thought this plan to deport millions of people through all that well.

It's going to be a shitshow.

its going to have some pain to it - the problem has been ignored for a long time

but he's thought it through - don't think he hasn't ............. and in the end if we have a secured border from human trafficking and drug trafficking and a nation with almost no illegally here people .... gawd imagine how much better that'll be for everyone - citizens of the USA and legal immigrants

the way its supposed to be

This reminds me of toilet paper, and supply chains, and empty shelves, yes toilet paper, and food, the simple things in life.

I know, its funny that people think removing hundreds of thousands if not millions of illegally here people that don't work is going to effect our economy negatively

but liberal news says it so ... they believe it

We are discussing farm workers.

Please make a better attempt to comprehend the subject matter.

Where are you going to find replacements for all these people who are being deported?
The farms are struggling to find people willing to do the job and unless they decide to massively hike wages they aren't going to magically find the people who previously shunned farm work are going to now take it.
The same goes for every sector where they decided that underpaying illegals was a good idea.
Those jobs will go unfilled.

How exactly are these illegals living if they don't have jobs and can't get benefits due to being illegals?
They can't all be hardcore criminals.
