Predictions:
Atlantic: Montreal, if Price stays healthy
Metro: Washington, Holtby is just that good
Central: Minnesota seems to be the consensus most likely division winner, and I got nothing better to contradict that
Pacific: Every one seems to be picking Edmonton, but I can't do it. I am going with the Ducks
I hear the Stanley Cup parade is slated for next week. Yay, Laughs!
Does that make the beat writer an OINO(Ottawan In Name Only)?
The Canadien anthem in Montreal is always awesome. Habs scoring first on Toronto even better.
Still very early in the season, but I'd have to say everyone has to be a bit surprised by the performance of the Vegas Knights thus far.
With Fleury gone, not sure how long, they'll start looking like an expansion team.
Subban may surprise us all. If he is anything like his brother, he may end up one hell of a goalie.
Fleury is only going to be out a week.Possible, but a rookie goalie on an expansion team is not a recipe for success. LV isn't like prior expansion teams because they got a lot of serviceable players, but unless Subban is the second coming of Ken Dryden, I'm not expecting much.
Fleury is only going to be out a week.
That's good to hear - I like him, particularly the way he handled things in Pittsburgh.
May not get to say it again, so I'll crow now - Leafs leading the NHL in the President's Trophy race.
I'm sure you're well aware that winning that may not be exactly what you want.
BTW, nice start for your Flyers!
Yeah, but I'm not counting on anything. The main players from years past are still there, and their inconsistency has a proven record.
I'd sooner place money on Toronto going deep into May 2018 than the Flyers making the playoffs at all right now.
Too early to be pessimistic.
