On one hand I commend the NFL for correcting their assumption that blacks have a lower cognitive function than non black players. What I am surprised is they used this race based assumption to save money, or maybe I shouldn't be.

On the other hand, I'm also surprised the ultra woke NFL even had this policy in place to begin with and why no one has really heard about it prior to just recently. How such a race based policy on cognitive function could have been kept in the closet all these years is an indication, at least to me, how strong the NFL's media department is in keeping control of what is and isn't published in the news.

Racists will chime in about rejecting science and it will never occur to them that the "black people have lower IQ" research is faulty science.
 
Well this was a stupid policy. I also am surprised it existed if it were merely an assumption. What they should have done is establish a base at the beginning and middle of their careers to go off of, for each player. That would also allow better knowledge about the injuries themselves.
 

You obviously haven't heard of a man named Roger Goddell or what he does.
 
How about they just do brain scans before and after? No need to bother with anything else.

But they didn't do the 'before' brain scans, so the policy couldn't possibly assume they'd happened, and you can't go back in time.

It's part of a years' long effort by the NFL to first not pay out anything to former players, and now to reduce the payouts based on indefensible assumptions that blacks have a higher bar than whites to prove damage. If might be true for a given player, but they cannot assume that kind of nonsense, obviously.

That costs owners nothing. The payouts are very expensive. The owners care about the payouts not whether some player is gay or not, and who can be fired or his contract cancelled at any time. The 'woke' is the show to protect what really matters - for years screwing players from settlements for injuries sustained in their little game for billionaire owners.

He got drafted after the league pressured the Rams to do so. He was too small to play the line and too slow to play LB.

Where did I lie and what is this misgender thing you’re talking about? Did Sam identify and one of the special recently included letters in the bowl of alphabet soup?

The problem rests with the very nature of IQ tests being a proxy for things not actually related to some innate, genetic "intelligence."
 
It took the NFL this long to give up on Eugenics based cognitive analysis? Worse, in some quarters it appears that the medical profession is still pushing Eugenics based opinions in this country. Nice

What an embarrassment. Once again I have to say that its EMBARRASSING to me to be White which is not to say that I desire being something other than White. Its still embarrassing regardless. If it were not so sad it would be funny.

That doesn't make sense.
 
Couldn't they use things like college grades and such for that? Seems like there would be plenty of data to use for how well they performed previously since they have all gone to college.

Cognitive function and test scores are not the same thing. This is too simple and it points out how RACIST we are in this country and how unscrupulously the NFL treats its black players.

All you need is a scan and a record of brain function. Electroencephalography, or EEG, is probably the second-best known technique for recording neural activity. fMRI records blood flow, a proxy of neuron activity, EEG directly records the brain's electrical activity via electrodes placed on the scalp of the subject.

Get a baseline from multiple scans from people who have never taken multiple head shots like those endured by NFL players. Get scans for every NFL player before they join the NFL and its done. The damage from these hits is so pronounced if it occurs (AND IT ALWAYS DOES) that even though fMRI and EEG are not perfect the damage will surely be exposed.

This is yet another embarrassment. Lets hear more about how Racism is a thing of the past.
